Great experience! We had the cauliflower bites with the truffle parm dry rub and sweet potato tots and honey mustard sauce, masala, and the coconut sesame sauce. Amazing hot, then straight out of the fridge later. Our waitress was great but the other waiter was pretty unhelpful. Overall great experience

Had a few hours to kill before my flight at EWR. Looked up restaurants near the airport, found this and I’m so glad I did. Friendly staff, delicious Beyond Burger wrap w sweet potato tots, and a deeeeelish freshly made strawberry lemonade. Highly recommend! I’m keeping this place in my fav saves. If I’m ever back in Newark NJ I’m def stopping back. That drink was so perfect for the hot day!

Owner has a bit of a brusk demeanor but the burgers are on point and the fries are always perfectly cooked.
I was disappointed when I found that burger walla had closed but happy to find that the owner opened another joint.

Went to this spot for a bite to eat, off of the recommendation from a security guard at NJPAC before attending my designated show. I am beyond thrilled that I adhered to his recommendation because I had an amazing top tier experience! This small, but quaint restaurant, made me feel comfortable and at home as soon as I walked in the door. I ordered the beyond delicious oxtail burger with sweet potato tater tots. However, I had the option to have my tater tots tossed in cinnamon and sugar if I wanted to, and I hesitantly but excitedly agreed. It was a wonderfully delicious choice! My server also provided her dipping recommendations, but the tots were so tasty, that no sauces were needed for me. Additionally, not only did my server check on me throughout my time there, two other employees checked on me as well. Love that! They also have an open kitchen where you can see everything going on, which is a plus for me. Lastly, the culminating factor that made this restaurant experience top tier for me, is that it is Black owned! Need I say more?? Please check out this amazing restaurant:)

We had our Family reunion opening day at The Yard, the food that was served was absolutely amazing. The portions were huge, the flavor was delicious. My first time eating chicken burgers, definitely won't be my last. The Patio area out side was clean and spacious, thanks for the excellent food and service!

I stopped by this lovely restaurant, and let me just say — it felt like stumbling onto a hidden gem. The moment I walked in, I felt super comfortable. The seating was cozy, the staff welcomed us with genuine smiles, and the music playing in the background? Absolute vibes. It felt like I was hanging out at a friend’s house, but with way better food!
The menu is digital, which made it fun to scroll through — the dish names were so catchy, I almost wanted to order one of everything just based on the titles alone. But we settled on the Fried Salmon Cakes and the Chopped Chicken with Grits, and every single bite was worth it. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made to order. You could tell they care about what they’re serving.
What made it even better was the extra little things: they have outdoor seating, and live music! You don’t find many places that combine good food, good service, and a great atmosphere all in one — but this spot nails it.
If you’re ever in the area and want a meal that feels home-cooked with a side of good vibes, this is the place to go. Highly recommend it — already planning my next visit!

The food was phenomenal however, our server should have been a little bit more attentive. We asked for a refill on water three times, finally got it after we finished eating. We asked for a coke to drink and never received it. I wanted to try their coconut pound cake but didn’t receive that also. We were never asked if the food turned out okay either.

Secret gem hidden in Military Park. At least it was a secret to me. Small place, but food was really good. I had the Beyond Burger combo...would recommend if interested in a quick bite for lunch or hanging out in the park.
