We were hype to eat here but the service was terrible to the point of us being concerned that the food might be compromised or not good, or that our order would be incorrect.

The person who took our order didn’t make us feel welcome and instead like our presence was a problem. It was really bad. Like, beyond an exhausted worker energy. They seemed extremely bothered by us.

We asked for more info on the chickpeas since we were interested in ordering, the person said they didn’t know. Then we asked what the flavor profile was and they said, “I don’t know, I don’t eat chickpeas.” Thankfully they showed them to us *when we asked* to see them.

They forgot to pack our cookies, so we drove 15 minutes back and when we went inside with our receipt and bag asking for the cookies, they said (with the same over-it attitude), “you got them when I gave them to you.” This astonishing moment is truly the reason we are leaving this review. Because, what???

We prioritize supporting Black businesses and the service sucked so bad in the end. I’m not sure I would go back. If I did and saw this same person, I would leave.

Amazing place! My family got the black eyed pea burger and I got the power bowl. Everything was tasty. While we got the sweet potato fries for the side, the side salad looked delicious too. Friendly and efficient staff!

This restaurant has fantastic food and prices. I love the hibiscus tea. It is my favorite food option near city hall. Whether I dine in or take out, it is always fantastic.
