As Muslims from Thailand, we're always on the lookout for zabiha halal restaurants that serve authentic Thai food. It's not easy to find in the Princeton area, so when we came across this restaurant and saw all the great reviews, we were genuinely excited to give it a try. Having grown up in Thailand, we know what authentic Thai cuisine should taste like, and we were hoping this would become our new go-to spot.

During our visit, we learned that the chef wasn't Thai but Mexican. Our server also shared that she was Indonesian, and we were told the owner is Pakistani. While a chef's nationality doesn't automatically determine how good the food will be, it helped explain our experience because the dishes simply didn't reflect authentic Thai cooking. The service and hospitality were decent, but the food was not authentic Thai—honestly, it wasn't even close. The flavors, preparation, and execution of nearly every dish we ordered missed the mark, and nothing reminded us of the Thai food we grew up eating. We truly wanted to love this place, especially because it's a zabiha halal restaurant, but we left disappointed.

Here's what we ordered:

**Pad Thai with Beef – 5/10**
Unfortunately, this wasn't the Pad Thai we were hoping for. The noodles were slightly undercooked and had more bite than they should. The sauce leaned too sweet and lacked the balanced sweet, tangy, savory, and slightly smoky flavors that make a great Pad Thai. The beef was tender enough, but overall the dish didn't taste authentic.

**Beef Panang Curry – 6.5/10**
The curry was decent, and the vegetables were cooked well, but it lacked the rich, creamy texture and bold peanut-forward Panang flavor we were expecting. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either.

**Glass Noodle Salad – 4/10**
This was one of the better dishes we ordered. The noodles were light, and the combination of lime, cilantro, peanuts, and ground chicken(which was very rubbery). We just wished it had more of the bright, spicy, and tangy flavors that traditionally make this salad stand out.

**Salmon Green Curry – 2.5/10**
The salmon was under cooked , but the green curry itself lacked the aromatic herbs, spice, and depth of flavor that define an authentic Thai green curry. It was enjoyable but much milder than expected.

**Chow Praya Tilapia – 7/10**
The tilapia was not crispy and over cooked , its my favorite dish. However, thew green curry sauce again lacked the bold, complex Thai flavors we were hoping for.

**Thai Iced Tea – 6/10**
Warm, Way too much sugar and it didn't have the rich tea flavor or signature sweetness we usually expect from Thai iced tea.

Overall, we left disappointed because we genuinely wanted to love this place. Finding a zabiha halal Thai restaurant is exciting, and we were hoping it would become a regular spot for us. While the service and hospitality were exceptional, the food simply didn't capture the authentic flavors of Thailand. Many of the dishes felt toned down and lacked the balance of sweet, salty, sour, spicy, and aromatic flavors that make Thai cuisine so special.

We sincerely appreciate the warm hospitality and hope the restaurant continues refining its recipes. We'd love nothing more than to see it become a truly authentic halal Thai destination in the area.

We had an amazing dining experience at Thai Lotus Thai Cuisine in North Brunswick! We were a party of eight, and every single dish was outstanding.

We started with the Sampler Platter and Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp, which were both flavorful and a perfect way to begin our meal.

For our main courses, we enjoyed:

* Thai Chili Beef
* Chicken with Black Pepper
* Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken
* Hakka Noodles with Chicken
* Massaman Chicken Curry – absolutely wow, super delicious!
* Salmon Green Curry
* Panang Duck – incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked.
* Ocean Red Snapper with Mango Basil Garlic Sauce – this was my personal favorite!

The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and served in generous portions that were perfect for sharing. Every dish was packed with authentic Thai flavors.

The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the staff made sure our group had everything we needed.

If you’re looking for delicious Thai food with excellent service and generous portions, I highly recommend Thai Lotus Thai Cuisine in North Brunswick. We will definitely be coming back!

Its a small place with small tables, seriously not enough for 4 people. Beef satay wasn't cooked well. They got 1 order wrong. And waited more than 10 minutes for ice after opening the soda can. The temperature inside wasn't pleasant either. It might be good place for pickup. Definitely not for dine in. Will be hesitant to go again.

I placed a takeaway order today, and not only did they rudely ask me to wait outside, but the package contained neither spoons nor forks, nothing at all. It's a ridiculous place; I will never go there again.And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Food here is just above average-not bad but nothing special either. Ambience is decent in this small restaurant of a strip mall right off route 130. Service is good.

Long overdue review, I have been coming here for at least 6 months; the food is always fresh , taste sooooo delicious. My choices have been Thai chilli chicken, pa Thai noodle chicken, Bbq chicken mango salad, massma curry chicken/ lamb and beef.

Portions are extremely fair and price is fair. In my opinion for what you are getting. This is not McDonalds where a premium death burger is $9-12$ for poison. The wait time might seem long but keep in mind it's freshly made to order and this is not fast food. I realized this after my 2nd order. 20-30min depending how busy.

The owner and his son, have been very helpful with my journey with Thai food with their suggestions based on my taste buds. Both are Very welcoming, kind and respectful.

This has nothing to do with the review but His son very intelligent, 16yrs old going to college. I was very impressed being I am in the education field.

Great place , a must try.
