Okinami Sushi offers food that is clean, precise, well-priced and quietly excellent, with none of the excess that has overtaken so many spots. The servers are helpful and kind, and excitedly greet each customer like the Cheer’s bar did for Norm. You leave pleasantly delighted — already calculating when you can reasonably return. Arigato Okinami!
WOW!! I had such a great time at Okinami- the staff is so THRILLED TO SAY HELLO AND GOODBYE!, they make everyone feel so welcome. The Sushi was fresh and delicious, the fountain soda was crispy and the music was GREAT! Special shoutout to David for being so wonderful! Can’t wait to come back soon. ARIGATO!
We tried Carpaccio and Futomaki. The quality of fish was really fresh and good. I definitely want to try their other menus as well.

Based on the reviews, OKINAMI SUSHI BAR in Norwood, NJ, serves some of the best sushi in Bergen. The sushi lunch set is fantastic, including sushi, a tuna roll, miso soup, salad, edamame, and tempura for just $26, offering great value. The sushi and sashimi set and salmon tataki are also excellent. The sushi is incredibly fresh, high quality, and goes down like butter. The Chirashi and the two rolls were perfect and massive. The staff and sushi chefs are phenomenal, genuinely some of the nicest, most welcoming people. The ambiance is relaxed, with a tight, cozy atmosphere. Chef Tim mastered his technique at Nobu and Sushi Noz. This place is better than most places in the city. They do not take reservations, so come early as seats are limited. The price is on the high side, but you get what you pay for.
