“located right on newark pompton turnpike, it's such a great place to stop for a quick bite when you just need a good burger (or their ribeye steak...SO GOOD), i've never met a friendlier staff or have had such a delicious meal ready to take home im such a short amount of time. definitely will be recommending this place to everyone i know!!!“

“We came from Ohio for a show in Jersey- but obviously we had to stop and see Anthony for some dogs on our trip. All of our hot dogs were awesome, my favorite was the Frito Pie and my boyfriend loved his sauerkraut with hot onions and mustard! (No pictures, ate them too fast, oops..) Anthony treated us so kindly, in fact all the locals in the store were so friendly. I wish we could have spent more time in Verona. He really made our stop in so special, asking us about our stay and even took a picture with us.
If you’ve never been here, you’ve gotta go! The dogs are incredible and the folks inside make it that much better. I’d give them 100 stars if I could. Thank you Anthony for being a highlight of our trip!“

“It may not look like much on the outside, but this place is great. It’s run by a nice guy, and the cheese fries are also quite solid and taste good. As for the hot dogs, they (from the sausage to the chili to the cheese to the mashed potatoes) have this amazing texture. Like, it has this soft, embracing feel in your mouth that just leaves you with a smile on your face. And the taste is phenomenal. That’s the best way I can describe it, I personally recommend trying this place out yourself if you actually want to know what it’s like…“

“Great little place one could easily miss if they weren't looking. Delicious dogs, relatively inexpensive prices, and great ambience, make this a go to spot. Couple of drawbacks though. Seating very limited, so best time to come is after the lunch rush and before school lets out. Also limited hours of operation, as they are only open during lunch through early afternoon rush hours, so plan accordingly. You won't regret it.“

“Listen carefully, better yet read carefully.This spot hits, a gag of a location perfect for a first date.The owners are wonderful and easy to communicate w/ and more so dedicated to the craft.The dogs on the other hand...Woah, it HITS, taste buds are going wild right now, my order was a dog w/ chili and Raw Onion, that chili alone can be attached to an I.V for direct absorption please.Overall great spot, if you have a jeep pop open the tail and sit vibe w/ the dog for a bit and keep life moving. “First thing first, the price I paid for a burger with fries and a drink was surprising because it was cheaper then I expected. Digging into that burger was surprising since it was absolutely perfect for a good reasonable price. I can't wait to come back! Great stuff and I'm sure the customers agree. Keep it up Johnny.“

“What a place with an old time feel! They are on their game, we ordered on the road 10 minutes out and when we showed up our food was waiting for us. After looking around the building, they have a great condiments bar for all your needs! All the employees were working to get people their food and everything from the kitchen that was on the shelf for customers looked awesome! We got cheese burger clubs and some dogs, which were awesome! Bathrooms and everything was very clean and these guys definitely pay attention to detail on everything! In conclusion, all the food we had was great and these guys will see a surge in patronage as word of mouth goes along way. We just stopped in for a quick lunch on coming home from the beach, and the place continued to fill up as we were there! Johnny, Christos, and company are doing a great job and we will be back very often, because their food and menu options are that good! As I am writing, my wife continues to tell me about the food choices available from the Lantern, which is making me hungry as I write this! You boys have a great thing going and keep it up as we will be continuous customers moving forward!
