This review is for a special order that was done at Kumi's Cakes and Pastries for our baby's birthday. We are ever so grateful to her for accepting our order amidst her very hectic schedule. We provided her with the list of items and she helped us choose the "perfect" filling for each pastry. We could not have been more pleased with the result. All pastries/snacks were a hit at the party. She makes everything from scratch and her Sri Lankan eclairs (chocolate chocolate eclairs) are the best. I don't think we can find anything closer to that even in Sri Lanka. She's a "PRO" in pastries and cakes and the best we've met so far. She is very detail oriented and puts her heart and soul into her work. I'll be purchasing all our special occasion baked goods from her. Highly recommend her for your custom cake/baked good needs or if you are just stopping in for your sugar fix ;)“

I had a hard time choosing the flavor because they all sounded so delicious but I chose the Vanilla Cake with Italian Meringue Icing and Raspberry Filling. The two young men behind the counter were smart and helpful with picking and packing of the bakery items. After learning about the GRASSLAND BUTTER used in baking, plus more additional details, I purchased 1 square of tomato pie ($1.75), 2 cheese/fruit danish ($4.75 each), a 6 pack of ciabatta rolls ($3.00), a long loaf of cracked black pepper and Asiago bread ($7.75), an iced cinnamon roll ($3.75) and a 3 pack of these Scottish Tiffan ($3.60, refer to FB post) ALL $30. Now home, I perked a pot of coffee and sat down to enjoy the danish which imparts a delicious buttery dough, nice, generous middle of fruit filling with an underlay of cream cheese mixture spread. Oh, yum. 😋“

The Dubai strawberry cup was a miss for me, though. I've had a number of them in NYC (and the original in London) and this one just missed the mark. “We had the BEST time picking cherries at Mackey's. We went in the rain and had the wagon ride and the orchards nearly to ourselves. We will absolutely be back during apple season. If you go, don't forget to try the orchard playground at the top of the mountain and listen for the mystery echo!“

“I stumbled across this little gem and I’m so glad I did. The cinnamon rolls are next level! soft, fluffy, perfectly gooey, and topped with just the right amount of icing and then some!. You can tell they’re made with care and high-quality ingredients because every bite is pure comfort and joy.

The bakery itself is warm and welcoming, with super friendly staff who clearly love what they do. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again (and I do!). If you’re a cinnamon roll lover, or even if you just have a soul, you need to treat yourself here.
