Best Philly cheesesteak in the state of New Jersey! Great service with a smile, oh and the food, it’s great food!!! They make their own homemade sauce and their milkshakes bring all the boys because they make them the old fashion way. Joe steak shop actually uses Hershey ice cream! Can I get any better than this? I submit that it cannot. I don’t have a picture because I already ate it.

This place looks so special. it's been around for a long time. Stopped by and ordered a cheesesteak, fries, and mozzarella sticks. The cheesesteak meat was cooked pretty well and tasted good, but the bread didn't taste good at all, and it was so soggy. It just didn't complement the meat at all. Mozzarella sticks were ok. The fries were pretty good.

In the Phillipsburg S Main St area and so, we decided to stop into the steak shop to order some food. Thank you Sara for answering my questions and Red, for grilling the steak and preparing the food. That special sauce, Joe's red sauce is gold. It's the juice that elevates the steak sandwich that heightens the taste buds and mine was HOT red so it was extra special. And a shout out to Candace, thanks for working and participating in all aspects of customer service of the business! To think, after almost 35 years, we took ourselves back down memory lane to enjoy your delicious steak sandwiches. Only fault, I didn't have my to phone to take any photos but compared to the steak sandwich photos on the reviews, our steaks were meager with the meat. I did ask Red if they portioned their meat ~ 5.5 ounces and she mentioned 8 ounces. Not sure why my 2" end of roll was empty of meat. . Anyhow, I'll definitely be back to give it another go.

Visited for the first time today but I did my homework. So the sauce isn't for everyone. When in Rome so I ordered the pepper steak hot no onions. Very tasty but I'd never order cheese with that sauce - too ketchupy. Peppers,steak, bread, sauce. That's it. Delicious. Sauce or not, I can vouch for the quality of the steak and bread. Nice photos of the Champ Holmes with the owner above the corner table.

Absolutely disgusting. Put in an order for 6 people. The sandwiches were very soggy and there were items missing from our order. When I called I was informed to come back and they would fix it. Explained that we only get a half hour for lunch I asked if they would deliver it. Was advised no but would write my name down for a credit in the future. This is not the first time that we have gotten a bad meal there but being in a business in the same town we feel we should support area businesses. The manager was rude and unwilling to rectify the situation. Needless to say we will no longer be sending out for lunch from this establishment however there are plenty of other businesses in this town that will be getting our business!! Shame on you Joe's Steak Shop.

Got the Philly cheese steak and it was mostly bread. Good bread, just too much of it. Very little cheese. Guess they never been to Philly.In all honesty, the ones at dominos are much better and cheaper.
