Visited my brother in Mendham, NJ and we drove down to Piscataway for lunch at Masala Cafe Chettinad. He suggested their Vaazhai Ilai Virundhu (traditional banana-leaf feast), and that alone was enough to get me excited. We skipped breakfast and arrived hungry.

Authentic South Indian food. On Dec 6 2025, I catered Dindigul biriyani, mutton Chettinad curry, veg biriyani and paneer 65. Each dish was superb- tasty, spice perfect. Generous quantity. Guests were gushing. The restaurant owner is gracious, hi tech and the process was seamless. One of the best authentic South Indian restaurants.
