Stopped by Brennan’s Deli and had the #9 with pork tenderloin and a side of potato salad. The sandwich was excellent — the bread was great and the pork was moist, tender, and full of flavor. I also grabbed a coffee and a brownie, and the brownie was terrific: the perfect balance between cake and brownie texture. Everything was really enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit.

I could smell the food before I walked in and it smells delicious!!! The food is great, the staff is friendly and outgoing!!! The building both inside and out is clean and well maintained. Every time I drive by there I feel compelled stop.

Pulled a black hair out of our sandwich that was ordered on Saturday. Please work on better hygiene.

Over 90min line on a Saturday and barely go through half the line. Ridiculous. No sandwich is worth that.

For my first time here, I didn’t expect getting a hand squeezed sandwich, I mean, it was almost like they were mad to make my food and clearly it shows.

I don’t usually post bad reviews especially for a place that I’ve been going to for 12+ years but the experience I’ve had at the Red Bank location is worth sharing for potentially the Owners to become aware of the lack of customer service and communication skills from the people working behind the counter. There’s a target audience that this place attracts and the employees must be selectively picked to make sure they’re able to communicate with a customer and are able to differentiate the communication style between at home and their jobs. With the growing competition, I don’t see any “Deli” surviving a bad customer service with disrespectful employees in this day and age.

Brennan’s Delicatessen has become a staple in my weekly routine—and for good reason. Their sandwich selection is outstanding, with something for every craving, and their online ordering system is spot-on. My orders always come out exactly the way I like them, which makes grabbing breakfast or lunch effortless. I usually visit the Middletown location as its convenient to where I live, however, the other locations are good too.

The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, which adds to the charm of stopping in—especially on Sundays when I treat myself to one of their breakfast sandwiches. During the week, it’s all about their fresh, satisfying salads that keep me going without slowing me down.

Whether you’re a regular or just passing through, Brennan’s delivers quality, consistency, and a genuine local touch.

Sandwiches are decent, if sometimes lacking flavor, but the shop itself is poorly organized. If there's any crowd the line to order, the line to pay and the folks waiting for their order all become one. The teenaged boys in front of me were charged twice for their order (which the manager straightened out) and another patron in back was rudely calling others derogatory epithets. The atmosphere at the Rumson location is the opposite so it's a shame that Middletown is like this, can't find a compelling reason to visit again.

Normally I order their Liverwurst sandwich, #20 and have never been disappointed.

However I wanted to try their Philly cheesesteak just to gauge how well they make theirs compared to others. Sadly, it was the driest cheesesteak I’ve ever had. Plenty of steak but not enough cheese integrated to compensate. See photos. The sesame bread was ok, not crispy for texture.

The ultimate cheesesteak is not found in Philly but by Chef Jose Andres in DC who uses a Banh Mi type bread for texture and caramelized onions. The major drawback to a Philly Cheesesteak is there’s no texture at all. If you ever had a Banh Mi Vietnamese Roll, you will be blown away with the complexity of flavors and texture.

I’m surprised given their sandwiches are usually well received by my coworkers who order #10.

The quality of sandwich is second to none the fixings good. A lot of choices very friendly staff. Very New England ambiance we sat on a wood porch and enjoyed our lunch. A welcomed change from the sandwich chains.
