This place never misses with their food. I had the veal Marsala this time. By far the best I’ve had. Real authentic traditional Brooklyn Italian cuisine. The server wasn’t very attentive and she seemed very distracted. But we’ve had great service in the past! It was a little warm in the restaurant and load that night so I gave it 4 stars for that.

I'll start off with the closest thing to negatives i can find which were mentioned in other reviews. Service was a bit slow and can be a little loud. Thats it. No real negatives. We tried a total of 5 different drinks and all were excellent! For appetizers we had the tuna tartare and clams oreganato. Both were great but the clams were amazing! We had the salmon and a pasta with lobster special. After 1st 2 rounds of drinks and the appetizers, we had high expectations for the entrees and they somehow exceeded expectations! Before the meal was through we were already making plans to comeback with others! My wife is not easily impressed, especially with Italian food as she compares everything to Brooklyn and this was the 1st place that finally met that bar!

My husband and I loved the drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts!!! We had dinner at the Brooklyn restaurant and found out through a friend that they had opened up a restaurant in Middletown NJ we immediately booked a reservation and we were beyond impressed with the food!!!

This is such a pretty restaurant. The decor is beautiful. The plates are stunning. The food is amazing! They are authentically Italian.
Ordered through door dash. Completely messed up our order. Called the restaurant to straighten it out. They said they can't do anything and we have to go through door dash to figure it out. I paid extra to sub vodka sauce for my dosh... didn't get the vodka sauce. The gave us a fettuccini alfreda instead of an Amatriciana. We asked for extra shrimp and they charged us for it but we didn't get it.

We’ve eaten here several times. The food is always delicious. We had the Florida rock shrimp appetizer special and it was excellent. My fiancé had the gnocchi but with marina sauce and they were good. I had the pork chop and it was spectacular. Absolutely the best pork chop I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly cooked with an excellent sauce and huge. We shared a Sicilian cannoli for dessert which was also excellent. The only knock on the place is that it’s very loud.

Il Colosseo is my favorite restaurant. I have been to both the Red Bank and Brooklyn locations numerous times and keep coming back for the high quality, authentic, and fresh food they serve. I always have a wonderful experience and would recommend it to anyone.

The food was overpriced and just okay. Staff was extremely friendly but sooooooooooooooooooooo slow and it was not busy. A table came in after us and left before us. Our waiter walked by our table several times without acknowledging us. What should have been an hour meal took almost two hours. It was also way too dark in there. If you're going to have dim lighting throughout the restaurant, you need to have some sort of illumination at the tables. Maybe they're good for take out, but we won't be dining in here again.
