My wife and I recently visited From Scratch for a lunch date together. We couldn't be happier with Filippo and the staff! The food was easily among the very top Italian cuisine we have ever tasted. This is a culinary experience as authentic as it gets, and I commend Filippo for his ultra professional and friendly demeanor throughout our meal. We will definitely be back soon, and we are even thinking of hosting a future party for our youngest daughter's First Communion...

If you are looking for a real Italian experience this is the place! Chef Claudia brings Rome to Ridgewood! Everything is just like you would expect in Trastevere.
This family run restaurant is a real gem!
Reservation especially during the weekend is highly recommended because the place is small and very popular!

Wow, so happy to have finally tried this gem for lunch on a Friday! Everything we had was delicious and thoughtful. Started out with the octopus that was very tender, nice bit of salt with the olive and rounded out with the cream sauce, sweet sliced peppers and basil oil. My husband and I shared the carbonara & the pappardelle with beef shank wine tomato sauce. Highly recommend both. Attentive staff kept checking in on us throughout.
