My husband and I went to Shumi for date night two weekends in a row and both times the sushi/nigiri/appetizers/rolls were all exceptional. We sat at the bar the second time and the sushi chef sent over a complimentary seared salmon belly sushi that was outstanding.
Too bright inside near the chef area and surrounding tables. If you get a special that comes with soup or salad, make sure you get it. They won't just bring it out. We had to ask. Also try to ask for your order to come when you want. Ordering an appetizer should come quickly way before, not with your entrees and specialty rolls all at once. Why is this not known and yet restaurants and servers still bring everything out together. lol.
This was an absolutely amazing meal! The service was incredible and I would highly recommend the omakase. The chefs were all great and the whole team really made our dinner special. We will be back, thank you Shumi!
