Raku Sushi in Ringwood is easily one of the hidden gems of North Jersey. I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants over the years, and this place consistently delivers some of the freshest, most delicious food and friendliest service around. Every time I walk through the door, I feel welcomed and appreciated, and that kind of experience is hard to find these days.
The quality of the sushi is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and you can tell that a lot of care goes into every roll and every dish that comes out of the kitchen. The specialty rolls are creative, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. No matter what I order, I am always impressed. The fish is fresh, the rice is perfectly prepared, and the portions are generous.
What really makes Raku stand out is the consistency. Whether you’re dining in, picking up takeout, or ordering for a family dinner, the food is always excellent. There are very few places where you know exactly what you’re getting every single time, and Raku has maintained that high standard year after year.
The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and relaxing, making it a perfect spot for a casual lunch, a dinner with family, or even a date night. The staff is always polite, attentive, and genuinely kind. They go out of their way to make sure customers are happy, and you can tell they truly care about the people who come through their doors.
As someone from the area, I can honestly say that Ringwood is lucky to have a restaurant like this. Raku has become a staple in the community, and it is one of those places that keeps people coming back again and again. If you’re a sushi lover, or even if you’re trying sushi for the first time, this is the place to go.
Five stars simply aren’t enough. Raku Sushi has earned its reputation through incredible food, outstanding service, and years of consistency. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic, fresh, and delicious Japanese cuisine. This place deserves all the support it gets, and I will definitely continue coming back for many years to come.

The most unpleasant part, which we discovered after we had already paid and were on our way home, was that the prices for some items on the menu we were given didn’t match the prices on the receipt. Of course, on the receipt they were $1–2 higher. That’s very disappointing. Second, the food. The sashimi didn’t live up to the standard of sashimi. The rolls were mediocre. The miso soup was good. It’s a shame we didn’t notice the pricing issue right away, this is a scam, guys.

It was solid. Good quality fish and well crafted. I dont know if I didnt care for the crispy rice or if it was slightly stale. Still a nice place and a good local spot for sushi. The red dragon was great!
I have been coming here for many years. The new owners are good people. The food is high quality and reasonably priced compared to other sushi restaurants in the area. The service is fast as well. No complaints, will keep coming back to support this local sushi restaurant.

Be careful you will feel sleepy after this food everything is super sweet and sugary and the effect after work afterwards resembles something like mSG you will feel sleepy and tired afterwards The healthiest option is probably teriyaki with no sauce on top but take it on the side Or sashimi or sushi
