Hibernia Inn happens to be within walking distance from my home, and we feel really lucky to have such a quality restaurant so close by. It’s consistently good, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming with true Italian heritage, and the food honestly comes very close to my nonna’s cooking.
I ordered take out. Beware, their online menu prices haven't been updated. When I told the waitress about it, she was very indifferent and dismissive. I would of tipped, but since their prices on the menu are higher than on the website, I couldn't because I only brought 40$ cash with me. Anyway, the steak was cooked right and the sauce was tasty, but the meat itself definitely wasn't quality. Their scalloped potatoes are delicious, but the portion is tiny.
Food is excellent. Casual pace for meal. Do make reservations because the dining room is small.
Kid-friendliness: So long as your kid knows how to behave in a restaurant, you're fine. I'd say 10 yrs. and older is good.
