“This place is neat! It's also comfy, they have a small patio outside and their food is really good! We went for an event and I kept seeing people picking up pizzas. If I were local, I'd go there for pizza as well. Their bartender was very polite and didn't give me an attitude when I ordered a drink. “My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. “Tankys is the spot! These people in the comments below complaining about it being unsafe just have nothing better to do. Other bars right down the block plays music just as loud and stays open just as late. Besides the one incident last year, there aren’t any brawls or fights that happen there. Most ppl that go there are regulars and know each other. To the ppl complaint about it being loud in open late, you have the power to move to another place you knew where you were moving to when you moved there tankys has been there my whole lifeThe drinks are strong and cheap, the vibe is chill, older crowd, when they have a DJ the music is good, u can bring food in, and they have a lil pool table and a parking lot. I been going to tankys for year and never had a bad experience. Occasionally the bartenders be too busy to get to me and I’ll get tired of waiting and leave but that’s all rare.“

“We had our daughters 18th Birthday Bash here at the Appian Way on: February 5th, 2022. We dealt with Bob throughout the whole process. And he was just great! Alot is included in the price you receive. And many other venues don't compare when it comes to price. Helping to save you some money along the way. The rooms are beautiful and my guest were amazed. The workers were accommodating and helped get our room together way before time. This helped us tremendously with getting most of the setup being done the night before. The lighting is awesome. The food was absolutely delicious. My guests are still raving about the food. It really was better than I expected. I will definitely be back to celebrate more gatherings. “Walked in this weekend for the first time and the female bartender was super friendly and helpful! We just wanted to stop in for a quick app and a beer. We ordered the fries and 2 rounds of beers and the check was super reasonable. We will definitely be back when it is nicer out to sit outside. They have a variety of things on the menu, a pool table, shuffleboard table and electronic darts.“

“This has been my local spot that I've been coming to for about two years now. The drinks are always ice cold and vibes are tremendous. The live bands that perform on the weekends always sound great and add to the environment of what you'd expect from a dive bar. This bar is cash only, but not to worry as they have an ATM. Vanessa, Rachel, Ava, Nichole, Lexi, Alexa, and everyone else that works behind the bar always make you feel welcomed whether it's your first time here, or you're a longtime regular.“

But it's the spot and the friends we make along the way. We caught no fish, not even ol' Stout. But we had a splendid time, and like the conquistadors of old we left with nothing. The pizza served here was pretty good, but it was a little greasy. Besides plain, they offered sausage and a few other styles. The restaurant also served wings and salad, which I passed on. The get together ended with a great selection of fancy cookies, where I really over-indulged.“

“For a hotel, it certainly was refreshing. Traveling a lot you don't always get the best food selection.

With that said, the crispy Brussels sprouts, OH-EM-GEE. Hear me out. They were the best thing I think I've eaten...in well, ever. It wasn't just the whole Brussels sprout itself, it was mostly the outer skins that was coated in seasonings, oil, and crispy. They were SO GOOD!

I definitely recommend the French Onion soup as well, we had that twice. 😋“
