“Went to Hemingways Monday and had a great meal with friends and family. Such a great place to enjoy music, live bands, DJ's. Cold drinks. The atmosphere like I had said before is an amazing. I had gone into a competing restaurant on the boardwalk for tacos but the person who sat us put us directly in front of the beer taps leaving us with 10" of space to eat! Ugg“
“We went here for Lunch on St. Patrick's Day and I'm extremely happy we went. The service was amazing and the wait staff was very attentive. The menu was just right and we were able to navigate through with no problems. The Raw Oysters were AMAZING very meaty and as fresh as if they just picked them outta the bay. They had a Special CORNED BEEF HANDBURGER SPECIAL that perfect for the day. SLANE Irish whiskey had a special crew there and we were able to secure the date in time with our custom etched whiskey glasses.“

The regular menu is fine by me. I only give a 5 if someplace is way over the top. 4 for me is great. 3 is average. My mother has never been to Riv's. Now she wants to go back. “The wait is about half an hour when we went last weekend. Customer service is excellent! I’ve never seen a humongous pizza before and I was in awe when our order of half buffalo and half veggie was served. One slice is too big but the crust is thin, so it evens out. It was delicious! The ambience is so relaxing. It was definitely worth a try and we’ll be back.“
“I come in regularly. Marissa the bartender is amazing!!! She’s so friendly and personable. I come back for employees like her, Destiny, and Anna. They make me feel like family when they are working the bar. I honestly come here at night to wind down and it’s the perfect spot because of these employees. “So today I am at MJ‘s restaurant, bar and Grill in Bayville, New Jersey for lunch with a friend. This building is located right on the bay, on a clear day. It would’ve been much prettier, but heavy ground fog was hanging around everywhere.I had never been here before and told the sushi was the best in that area so me and my friend Bob decided to go there for lunch. He had been there many times and highly recommended it. The only issue was that the sushi part doesn’t open until 4 PM and it was just noon when we got there.So it ended up being a really nice hamburger for me, and chicken wings for Bob, which looked absolutely great, and he says they are very good there.The service is stuck out the young man who is the server was on the spot didn’t bother us. We were there for three hours, talking and catching up. It had been nearly 20 years since we had seen each other and it was amazing how we took off just as we did Back then. The atmosphere was light for a lunch crowd, so nobody was chasing us out the door for a spot, so our server came around when he thought we needed something he was perfect absolutely perfect and that would be the highlight of this meal. Cause good service is not, easy to find.Here’s a couple videos just looking around the place and a few food shots.I’m coming back for the sushi and I think the rating is going to go way up. And I can say that was the only thing that I could complain about, but if we had searched it, we would’ve known 4 o’clock with sushi hour. That was on me.Yes, I’m coming back here, not sure when but I think pretty soon I’ll add anything to this review but it was nice I can see how when that place is packed it’s pretty big and the noise level of my climb drastically but I still don’t think you’d have any problem hearing each other across the booth.Give it a try, I recommended, and that’s only by having a burger but man and wings look good. Great specials (which I'm ALWAYS looking for a deal), awesome drinks, and live local music. The perfect place for food, fun and great service. The best part? “Would have gladly given an overall five stars if it were not for the service coverage problem and that expensive TGIF LIT drink with only two healthy sips from my straw and it was gone, a $10+ drink ? gone in two sips with straw. It should be more plentiful than that. Especially that price point.To Clarify about Service, I’m not complaining about the Bartender/Server, Sue was just fine. It was her overwhelming coverage of customers that was my grief. I sat at the bar with only 3 guys already into their meals. Sue was not behind the bar as she was waiting/checking on the some 5 tables all full of patrons. It was lunch ? time and to much coverage for her. Not her fault. She needed another body. Typically a Bartender approaches one in less then a minute. I was not greeted for 5+. But again, Sue was delightful! Not her problem, Mgnt problem.2nd drink ? was a beer this time, crisp, clean, extremely tasty ? n COLD !!!Opted for their new menu item: Swiss ? Mushroom ? burger ? for short. I added Avocado ?, fresh n plentiful. Cooked to PRRFECTION, juicy n on the money ? medium-rare. The saying w/ burger’s is “it’s all about the bread…”, well TGIF wisely does not play w/Wonder buns, they creatively select “Challah” buns, an incredible Jewish kosher delight! Best burger ? I’ve devoured in a long time, juicy n slid down my throat….Went with healthy Caesar side salad ? over fries n that was dead-on as well. Sue got that to me as an app while the. Burger was cooking, great thinking ? and/or policy!Again, all employees did their very best n performed well! Polite n friendly. “We were looking for a place to grab dinner and snacks and had read good things about this place. When you enter you can’t miss the bar in the center of the room and the booths on either side. Our server was friendly, quick, efficient and fun. Our food was hot, fresh and delicious. They serve burgers, a couple of skillets, tacos, soups, thin crust pizza, French dip, etc. we would definitely eat here again.“
