The best seafood on the island!

Ed Gerdts

Had Fish tacos for lunch - only gave you two small tacos with one tiny piece of fish on each. Didn’t even give a lot of fries to make up for it. Left hungry. Will not go back there again.

We picked up orders of fried shrimp and garlic butter & white wine mussels. Shrimp were way overcooked, had an oily taste, probably old oil, and food wasn't hot. This was Saturday Sept. 28th, 2024 approximately 3 p.m. We've been customers for over 30 years. Now that The Tide Group bought the 6 restaurants including Mud City, Ship Bottom Shellfish & others, quality has gone downhill & prices have skyrocketed! At this rate, these restaurants will contimue to.lose customers.
We won't return.

The clam chowder was very good but we got oysters and asked where they were from and the server said some nearby river and they certainly looked and tasted like they were river oysters. The liqueur which is the liquid that comes with the oysters is supposed to be briny and taste like the ocean but these were anything but that. They tasted like they were harvested from an industrial river and looked equally as unappealing. Service was pleasant we sat outside it was great. Also they are byob which is fantastic.

This is my husband‘s favorite restaurant on the island. He’s always asking if we can go. Highly recommend! The seafood platter is his favorite, he gets it every time.

Delicious! An LBI staple that should not be missed. It gets busy, but they do takeout too!

Well, as the Honest reviewer here. I can’t say I’m pleased at all.
I personally ordered the chicken…. It was practically rubber chicken. Horrific. Thank goodness I ordered broccoli cause how can you screw that up.
Just horrific. Extremely salty steak and chicken. Very veiny tuna.

I don’t belive I will be back.

Also presentation for the environment must be fixed. As soon as you walk in you see. Dirty tank for the lobsters. It’s not a very appealing feeling you get when you walk in. I understand if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But it’s just an old feel with not very good food in my option. I felt like I just ate bad diner food.

Again won’t be back

We stopped in around 6 PM to find a line at the door. The couple ahead of us was seeking a table for eight and were told that it would be 90 minutes or more. We were a little discouraged at this point but when the hostess got to us asked about a seating preference we were immediately seated outside. Not bad! We are leaving only three stars for atmosphere because we never saw the inside of the place.

We called in advance and found this to be a BYOB restaurant. Apparently this is widely known among the regulars as it seemed that everyone waiting for a table had wine with them.

We started off with oysters on the half shell which were served with cocktail sauce, horseradish and a vinaigrette. Our dinner entrees included fried scallops and jumbo lump crab cakes. We finished off the meal with a blueberry crisp ala mode. Everything was wonderful; we will definitely go back again.
