The oxtails are a customer favorite, being described as succulent and falling off the bone. The plantains are also a popular side dish, being sweet and crispy. It is recommended to call ahead as the food is made fresh daily and may not be ready until after 12pm.
The restaurant has a homey feel, with the owner remembering customers from high school and taking the time to talk and hear how they have been. The owner and her husband have gone above and beyond for the students of the local high school, feeding and tutoring those in need. The restaurant is more than just a place to eat, it is a warm and welcoming home for many. Prices are reasonable and the patties are a must-try. The restaurant and its owners do not receive enough recognition for the positive impact they have on the community.
