I have eaten here before and the cheesesteak was pretty good. Today I ordered a cheesesteak with fried onions and Cooper Sharpe, and it was one of the worst cheesesteaks I’ve ever had. The bread was good, but the meat was like warmed up roast beef with very little cheese and no fried onions. The guy running the place forgot about my order and I think it was sitting out for a while. Disappointed.
Easy online ordering. Great customization options. Love the 'time to ready' notice. And, the steaks were well above average with just enough meat (choose to scoop roll! ). Areas for improvement: hot peppers... I don't want banana peppers, I want hot cherry peppers (and sweet cherry peppers). Fries were good and properly packaged to- go. I will definitely order again.
To be fair, others might quite justifiably give a higher rating. Unfortunately, I was back visiting from the West Coast and was looking for an authentic Philly style cheesesteak as I remembered from my youth. You know, a soft chewy Amorosa roll, lots of grilled onions, and oozing with cheese ala Pat’s or Geno’s at 9th & Passyunk. That’s not what they serve here.
