Decent Indian restaurant in Summit..it's on a higher end and all the dishes are on pricer side. The Appetizers and main courses are expensive and the quantity is less as compared to the money we are paying .. especially for main course.
We went on Sunday and the staff was in super rush to take plates from our table . We had to tell them multiple times that we are still working on some food items. Chicken thigh curry in main course had dry chicken and not cooked well.
We did tell them about this and no one took efforts to replace the dish or offer a new one .
Appetizers - Avocado Bhel, Yellow Paneer , veg corn soup
Mains - Dal Fry, Chicken Thigh
Out of all the dishes only soup and apps were good.
I will not go to this place again for 2 reasons ..service was somewhat rude and dishes are expensive and quantity is very less as compared to prices.
Vegetarian options: Good Veg options
Parking: Have to find street parking ...

Food was tasty and creative but felt rushed from the moment we entered in. Don’t know why they would take reservations till 1.45 pm if their kitchen closes at 2. Then they rushed us and made us order everything in one go and also kept bothering about closing. We drove 1.5 hours for this and so it was a very disappointing experience. Ordered paneer butter masala which was also extremely oily. Would not recommend.

We called ahead and booked a reservation through their online system, and got a confirmation email. But when we arrived they had lost our reservation and told us we would not be seated. Despite calling immediately after booking the reservation, as well as earlier the day of to confirm, this situation occurred. We had proof of the confirmation email and showed it to them but they claimed that we had cancelled - we received no cancellation email, and of course, did not cancel. The lack of communication, professionalism, and accountability are indicative of the quality of service here. We were excited to try Four Monkeys, and are greatly disappointed.

Although the food was good, the service at the restaurant was terrible. Our waiter was rushing us through the meal, did not refill our water glasses once, and when asked to bring a takeout bag twice, he never brought it. It was also confusing to see the waiter also be the hostess as it definitely took the attention away from his tables. Also, tip was automatically included in the bill, which was confusing because that was not mentioned anywhere. Unfortunately, the food was not good enough to return to the restaurant in the future given the service.

The host refused to seat me, claiming the restaurant was “full,” even though there were only two couples dining. It was 5:30 PM, and according to their website, there were open reservations for both 5:30 and 6:00 PM. When I asked if we could be seated, I was told I needed to add my credit card to make a reservation. Despite showing that the times were available, the host simply said, “No, it doesn’t matter, I have guests coming. Go make a reservation.” Who trained this staff? This is poor service.

The ambiance at Four Monkey was amazing. The appetizers and dessert is the reason I am giving it a 4/5 star otherwise it would be a 2.5/3 if it was strictly based on main course.
The appetizers, highly recommend the Kharda Chicken, Jackfruit Lettuce Wrap, and Masala Burrata.
For dessert, recommend the chai tres leches and bloom dessert.
The main course we ordered quite a few items: chicken bhuna, lamb, and chicken chettinad of which only the bhuna was decent.
The vegetarian option we ordered palak paneer, sham savera and they were not flavorful. All main entrees with an orange curry tasted very similar as they used the same gravy for all of them.
Would go back for apps and dessert only.
Also the staff was EXCELLENT!

We had a wonderful dinner at Four Monkeys last night. The food was delicious with an attention to flavor and well distributed spice. Tons of vegetarian options and interesting takes on dishes like butter chicken and chicken korma. Our server, Maxwell, was great! Knowledgeable, funny. Dishes very reasonably priced to. The restaurant is BYOB. Will definitely go back

The food is average at the best. Atmosphere is good but overly crowded. The waiter literally yelled at us when we tried ordering dessert.

Our experience was very mid. In short, the dishes did not feel authentic Indian, and lacked a lot of flavour and spice. We got the avocado bhel as a starter, which had a tiny portion. The moong was interesting, but made the entire thing taste very raw. For mains, we had the paneer butter masala and palak paneer. Both dishes were very runny and had an almost soup-like texture. The paneer butter masala just felt like tomato puree. The palak paneer felt light on the palak, and that flavour profile was missing. For the prices, we didn’t think this competes with other upper end Indian places in Jersey.

This place is walking distance from the summit NJ transit station. The food was good. We got the paneer starter which was delicious, went well with the roasted pineapple, the naan burrata - drizzled with chutney's. Both starters had the right amount of fusion. We got the palak kofta curry with naan for main course - there was some bitterness from the spinach & felt the base curry was a bit bland, the naan was stretchy & chewy. We tried the Ras Malai tiramisu for desert, there was no taste of Ras Malai, points for the presentation, none for taste! Overall a good experience.

Pretty decent BYOB place. Would be better if they served cocktails. 🍸 There is a liquor strore a few shops down though.

Well we made a reservation for 4 at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. Had to leave a CC number in case of no show fee of $30 pp. We arrived on time. We were being rushed to order from the start, & include apps with main course. When asked about the menu( is the chicken white meat or thigh) the waiter didn't know. He did not offer to ask either. We had to ask him to check, which ended in him bringing someone for us to ask. We ordered, food came out. 3 of the 4 dishes, with the servers or waiter saying they will bring the other. But I'm the end we had to ask for that last dish (palk paneer) after waiting too long. This was the first palak paneer I've not liked. The cubes were tiny and tasteless. As soon as we paused our eating they asked if we wanted dessert, or to take food home. After 1 hr and 50 minutes, they were rushing/ pushing us out. They didn't even tell us that they added an 18% tip on the bill, so look for that. So basically not a pleasant experience. It felt like they are only there for the money and we are just pawns.

Good food albeit with a limited selection. Not a good choice if you want to enjoy dinner with friends since they rush you out so they can turn over the tables. It is also worth noting that they include an 18 percent tip without pointing that out.

Tried a bunch of their interesting sounding appetizers - the okra was fine, the pain puri with two nice chutneys was good, the dry cauliflower Manchurian was good, an interesting take on bhel was good as well, the cassata dessert was fine too!
