Always helpful and very nice
Located just off of Route 23 in Sussex, this is definitely your typical ShopRite. Although unlike some other shoprights that I've been to, the hot bar is very well maintained and looks to be very fresh. The one thing that I was very surprised at is there is a true value hardware store inside of the ShopRite. I don't think I've ever seen that before! ShopRite of Sussex is generally a decent, new, clean, and beautiful store. It is well-stocked with fresh food and described as a godsend, especially for those who live closer to it than more expensive or distant alternatives. The store features a pharmacy, a bakery, a special fish area, a butcher shop, and a hardware area. Employees are often noted as friendly and helpful, with pullers available to bring groceries to your car. The bakery received specific praise for a beautiful pull apart cupcake cake and for staff being nice and helpful.
However, some issues are noted. The parking lot can be a significant problem, with customers sometimes finding no spots available. The bakery receives mixed reviews, with some customers finding it excellent and others criticizing it as a pathetic joke where products like muffins seem thawed and quality has declined. Additionally, the fridge section in the produce area is criticized for having bagged lettuce that is often wet and wilted, leading some shoppers to go elsewhere for produce.
