Sadly East is permanently closed. I've called numerous times and their phone has been disconnected. Since being taken over by a group of Japanese buyers it just wasn't the same. I'm assuming the new management did not see fit to continue on with East's long tradition in Teaneck. I called East in Nanuet and they are open again in Palisades Mall, and not owned by the Japanese company. I also called their Ramen restaurant in Englewood and they said East in Teaneck has been closed permanently. Sad day for sushi lovers.

Reasonably good quality well priced. Satisfying, varied and excellent service. Do service delays! Perfect when you need to eat quickly.

The place offers a nice variety of fresh food. I enjoy dining here. Staff members are always super nice, rates are affordable and the spot is always well organised.

The food is regularly well prepared and delicious, cashiers hands over great service. I loved how clean it is and mood. Will come back again.

Nicely renovated, looking more modern than the version before. Sadly, not much to say for the sushi or the tablet menu. Yeah sophistication is nice and all but for a sushi house? I want to tell the chef or the waiter what my order is, have the little time to converse and ask why they recommend or even what their favorite sushi. Yes, no one said we can't talk anymore just because the tablet is still there but it was always nice to talk to all the nice waiter who were there, not many left. A lot of items have also been knocked out the menu, like salmon skin sushi. There's only this odd taco looking roll now that's annoying to eat. Unfortunately not impressed by the new update, it feels like they tried to hard to make it hip and keep it a sushi place which unfortunately failed. Would love the old place back now, but things change.

Not what it used to be after change in management. Terrible quality with limited selection. Avoid it possible

The food has always been awesome! I’ve been coming here since I was a small girl and grew loving Japanese food.

The sushi here is amazing, this restaurant has been one of my favorites for years! With the tablets, it’s so much more efficient and the staff is still interactive with the customers. Will definitely be recommending this to all of my friends.

They've really changed this place up. New lights, new paint, new touchscreen tablets, an incredibly delicious menu of assorted Japanese food, a great selection of sushi. I really like how they kept and revamped the conveyor belt sushi and the prices. It's such a great place I'll be coming here for my Japanese food.

There are a lot of Japanese restaurants in Bergen county and I’ve tried out plenty in the area but I’ve probably eaten here at least half of all of those times. I keep coming back here for the assortment and the convenience of the conveyor belt sushi. There’s a huge assortment of sushi that just moves alongside the booth tables for choosing that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Aside from that, they serve other types of Japanese food in a reasonable amount of time, they have a good selection of bento boxes and noodles, the waiters are always around and quick to refill water, and the setting is really nice, the place is well kept, good lighting, nice music. A big plus of this place is that orders are made on touchscreen tablets at each table. It’s extremely convenient and streamlined. I don’t see this type of stuff at any other Japanese restaurant or any restaurant in general. Good food, great service, nice menus and ambience. It’s well rounded quality.

I was introduced to East by my boyfriend who constantly raved about it when we were talking. He's been coming here for years and I've been numerous times now! The sushi, hot dishes, drinks and atmosphere all coincide wonderfully together. I really love the conveyor belt and the experience of grabbing what looks delicious. It's always such fun and a good time. Service is always quick and even when you order everything arrives within minutes. Recently, East revamped and it's much more modern and trendy, which I think was a great move for them. You can order right off an iPad or simply grab from the conveyor belt. Whatever you prefer. Everything I've had here is delicious and I do enjoy their sushi portions + pricing. My favorites are their american dream roll and extra crunchy shrimp roll. I can eat tons of those! Highly recommend visiting :)

It's an okay spot. Very casual and cute. The quality is okay for the price and everyone is nice. Not my top pick, but if in the area, this place is okay.

We went to Japan a few times and really missed conveyor belt style restaurants. Really glad this place could give us a little piece of our wonderful trips to Japan. There are many choices and the quality is good! We will definitely be returning.

I'll never forget when my friend introduced me to this place now a long time ago. I love it. Once you walk in it's like you've entered a new dimension. I imagine it as Japan in the year 1990 (I've never been so I'm guessing). It's a great feeling. It's really fun with a group of friends or bring a date. They have the rare sushi belt! You can fight with your friends over who gets what and who stacks the highest plates! The sushi is great and so is everything else. It's really awesome they have beer too. That Sapporo ? and sushi ? are made for each other ?. !itadakimasu!

I started coming here a few years ago, but havent visited in quite some time. It looks like some light remodeling happened, removing some of the old diner style facade pieces for beautiful, fitting woodwork paneling. The food options have always been great, and the tablet ordering system was fast and inviting on top of the carousel options. I would say this place is near perfect if you're looking for excellent quality sushi options.
