I have been in the restaurant several times with no problem. My granddaughter loves Empanadas so we had them for her 13th birthday party. pretty expensive right! We ordered 25 beef and 25 chicken. When they arrived they looked great bit into them and they were so salty no one could eat the beef. Called them after the party and the manager called me back, I explained and that was it no apology, no compensation who does that? I called back today again they said the manager wasn't in. Can't do business there anymore.

We used to travel to Mama Anna's often because they had both fried and baked empanadas - both were great! Unfortunately, they no longer have the baked empanadas- (Perfect for those who can't eat fried food) 😞.
They do have other food choices (salads, sandwiches, bowls ....) , but it's not Worth a trip without empanadas that everybody can eat.

Mama Ana’s Empanadas were absolutely delicious! The empanadas are large, generously filled with your choice of well-seasoned fillings. There's convenient parking in the rear, and they also offer fresh-squeezed juices. Highly recommend!

The food and service is great however sometimes the empanadas are way too oily. I almost always have to drain the oil from the empanadas when I order from here

In the fast-food universe, the empanada is an incredibly comforting and flavorful food in the shape of a half-moon made with flour dough or corn flour dough. One can stuff them with any number of things.

On this Nochebuena (Christmas Eve), while in the neighborhood of Totowa, my partner and I decided to pay a visit to this establishment for takeout as first-timers. Opened 6 years ago, Mama Ana’s Empanadas is a family-owned restaurant specializing in empanadas located off of Union Blvd.

Greeted by the staff upon arrival, the interior vibe was not only festive but cozy and casual with seating for 20 patrons.

From the menu, one can choose up to 18 different kinds of empanadas, from classic beef or chicken to cheesesteak and Cuban; either have them baked or fried. They also offer Latin” bowls, salads, and sandwiches.

We decided on the cheesesteak empanada and broccoli & cheese empanada, as well as the Chicharrones de Cerdo bowl, accompanied by rice and beans with a side of maduros (sweet plantain).

The cheesesteak was tasty. The broccoli came with mozzarella, which was salty. The cheddar would have been better. The empanada dough was hot, flaky, and huge. Chicharrones de cerdo bowl was served piping hot and hit the spot. The pork wasn't hard but had great flavor and chew.

The price was reasonable due to its size and portion. The service was slow, but we know the food was made fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Ada and Yame.

We can recommend this place.

Maybe they had an off day because we went on a Sunday. But it was not a good experience. The empanada was over loaded with cheese and the chicken was in little pieces. Not sure if they changed ownership that's what it seems like. Usually the chicken is nice shredded, juicy, and has a nice flavor. Can't say the same about it now.
This used to be our go to place for empanadas. To say the least we won't be returning anytime soon.
