The food was excellent is what I expected
The food is packed with flavor. The only reason I did not give five stars is because all three of our plates arrived with cold food. That is not true of the alcapurrias which were freshly done and hot straight from the fryer. The table service is a little lacking but that may be because it is set up as more of a take out. Overall I would return.

Based on multiple reviews, Mi Islita Kitchen offers tasty Puerto Rican and Dominican food with generous portions. The menu has multiple options, and staff explain it in detail if needed. The mofongo is spectacular, soft with crunchy pieces of bacon and flavorful. The pernil is juicy and tasty, and the salmon and steak are delicious. Other dishes like arroz con gandules, pollo guisado, salad, rice/beans, and hot coffee were all on point. The atmosphere is good, warm, and always fun, with art and decorations. The staff is courteous, nice, and willing to help. This place is BYOB for beer. A must try.
