I've been going to Peterson's, now Galloping Hill Inn for many years. I've always liked the food. I went there today and was very disappointed. I ordered a double with mustard and barbecued onions. I should have known there would be a problem when my order was ready, bagged and all, when I paid. The dogs weren't fried. As a matter of fact, they were barely warm and the double was on a regular hot dog bun, not the usual roll that they had previously served....
The food was phenomenal.I had the California deluxe cheese burger with crinkle cut fries and the lady I talked to for a bit was really nice. I'm still shocked this place has been open a 100 years so much history.
At least 39 years and multiple owners since I was here. I read online about there version of the Newark Italian Style hotdog. This is on a crusty roll with peppers and onions. Very tasty and the Double Hotdog was around $8. A 32 oz beer was around $5. Lunch was there in 5minutes and staff was attentive.Definitely going back soon!
