“For a Wednesday night the place is almost filled. There was a mixture of tables with large parties and smaller ones of couples. Everyone seems to be returning customers which is a good sign. The five dishes we ordered were well prepared with appetizing taste. While their American menu seem to cover frequently ordered western fare, most of their Chinese dishes are listed separatly and only presented in the Chinese language. Our estimation is that everyone in the restaurant ordered from the traditional Chinese menu instead the one you are handed. “First time coming here and this place is amazing. I got the Pad thai and its perfectly made- excellent seasoning, and well made for the price of $13. I wish the portion sizes were larger, but I've been looking for a thai place near Berkeley and finally this one will be my go to. Skip the "Proud thai cookery" and come here, this is way better and really does taste like family cooked dish at an unbeatable price. Will definitely be back!“

“We love Thai food. We've had authentic Thai food in Bangkok itself, and Ricky's Thai is a solid local Thai restaurant that meets our cravings. There's a wide menu of options, you can get dishes from no spicy at all to super spicy. Tip: Level 5 isn't the spiciest, they can go higher. I often change the tuna lover roll to a salmon lover roll, which I think should be on the menu permanently! We had several dishes and a few with no spice. The mango sticky rice was not available due to mangos being out of season. We tried the cheese cake that was amazing too. After ordering your food, the wait is about 10 - 15 minutes. Appetizers I always get are the steamed pork dumplings and beef satay. “Thai Lanna is a staple in my area and my favorite Thai restaurant. I've been eating here for many years. The staff is warm and friendly, the owner is incredibly nice and the food is consistently delicious! Everything is always cooked to perfection and VERY flavorful. They also accommodate spice levels perfectly so if you want it more tame, they can do that for you. The service was great. They were very attentive and friendly. The food came out fairly quickly for our large party. Everyone from the owners to the waitresses were awesome. We had a fixed menu for our large party that included soup, salad, entree and dessert. The salad was delicious and fresh. We had a choice of 3 different soups, I had gone for a coconut chicken soup that was refreshing and slightly citrusy. My entree was the garlic salmon which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The north Indian dishes just looked good but taste wise something was missing. They all tasted same without much variance in flavors.
