We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at 1958 Cuban Cuisine. On a frigid night, there are few things better than delicious food, attentive service, and friendly seatmates (including the owner, who pulled up a chair for a welcoming chat). Our server, Lulu, was delightful and provided expert suggestions and prompt service. We enjoyed a garlic shrimp appetizer, oxtail with black beans and rice, ropa vieja with fried plantains and congri and managed to share tres leches...OMG! Highly recommend!
If you want authentic Cuban food and a nice atmosphere, this is a perfect place. We have been traveling here from the city for several years, because of the excellent food. Thank you
Food here at 1958 Cuban Cuisine is always fantastic. We started out with some chicken and beef empanadas and black bean soup. Both excellent. I had the Churrasco a la Cubana with congri and tostones as my sides. My husband had the Ropa Vieja with the congri and mixed veggies as his sides. Everything was so yummy. I couldn't eat all of mine and I wanted dessert so we packed up the leftovers for home. For dessert 1958CC makes a wonderful tres leche and also coconut bread pudding....
