This Japanese restaurant was a wonderful experience. The food has an authentic and well-balanced flavor, but the dumplings stole the show: absolutely spectacular, some of the best I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is super pleasant, with a vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy. On top of that, our server was very kind and attentive, which made the visit even more special.
Without a doubt, a place worth coming back to.

The best sushi around with a mean Lychee Martini. The sushi is truly an art form at Akai. We had a few Bonzai Tree appetizer rolls, sashimi, and Basterrd and AME rolls. The owner is really accommodating and amicable.

My first time here, and I would definitely go back. Also, my first time to Westfield, NJ. I love this town! The restaurant itself is very good. Kid-friendly, date-friendly, and meet-up-with-friends-friendly too! Extensive lunch menu with great prices. The service was also great. They have a nice bar and lots of mocktails too.
