I initially came here because I was turned away at playa bowl across the boardwalk. It’s a happy accident as not only were they accommodating and very happy to have my business. The monkey bowl was delicious! It had a açaí base mixed with banana, peanut butter and then had granola, nibs and banana on top. Tons of other toppings were available.
I’m a health nut so traveling to places such as the shore isn’t my favorite due to only thinking of fried foods. But this place was a breath of fresh air. I got the black bean banana smoothie and it was amazing. Not only did I get an energy boost from the cold brew coffee also got nutrients from the banana and almond milk in it as well. The guy manning the booth was so friendly. I got the monkey bowl and when I said no honey, he offered a substitution. At first I selected hemp seeds but when I saw that he used peanut powder in the smoothie itself, I said I’d switch to peanut butter instead of hemp and he offered me both! (It was a lot of peanut butter, like 3 tbsp, so in the future I’d ask for a half serving of each topping, I’m sure that’d be fine.)
