“This is such a great place. The food is wonderful the atmosphere is great and service is out of this world. I would recommend if your sick or just a soup lover to get their chicken and rice soup. Its thick and hearty with shredded chicken. The fresh mozzarella is like 10 dollars for this small ball but worth it. They make great spaghetti sauce and have wonderful sandwiches too but I'm cutting back on bread so I can't say I've had them that much“

From the quality of the ingredients, freshness, value for your money there is no better Italian deli in my opinion. Their sandwiches are so good, the cold sides and salads are also very good. It's great for lunch or catering. I also love the assortment of prepared foods/soups and other products available. I for sure make it a point to stop in whenever I'm in town. 10/10 would recommend!“

“Good sandwiches (especially roast beef, corned beef, Italian Combo, VC club) and delicious potato salad, but I am frustrated because the bread is often very stale. I would say this has happened with 1 out of every 3 sandwiches I have ordered there and it ruins the sandwich. I feel like I'm taking a risk every time I order. I have also had a really hard time ordering by phone as it's extremely difficult to hear the staff on the other end. They are usually pretty fast, but I would really like more consistency. It's too bad. With a little more quality control, it would be an awesome spot to frequent.“

“I live in Emerson just a town away from Flynn’s. Once upon a time we had a deli called Shortrounds. Blew my top off. Long story short Shortrounds stopped their brick and mortar business and I was afraid I wouldn’t find a good deli again. Flynn’s is the best I’ve had in New Jersey. “Nestled in a small strip mall next to the Mahwah train station, this deli is charming, the owner and staff are friendly (it’s family run), and the food is really good. I have been here three times in the past two weeks, and I have been very satisfied each time. I do plan on becoming a regular customer. There are daily soups and specials, the latter of which can be purchased as a single serving or family style (feeds 4-5 people). Each day of the week has its own special item, but the specials remain the same for each day from one week to the next. We recently had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Tortellini Alfredo daily special, family style. It was just for the two of us, but we got two entire meals out of it (four individual servings). It was delicious. They have an interesting and eclectic mix of menu items, including empanadas, chicken wings, gyros, taquitos, antipasto, stuffed peppers, sliders (burger, chicken, and pulled pork), meatballs, heroes, soups, salads, and desserts. While they do serve heroes, this does not appear to be the kind of deli where you go for, say, a typical roast beef or tuna fish sandwich with a side of regular potato salad. In the deli case, though, I did notice items like white meat chicken salad, country Coleslaw, green beans oreganata, pasta primavera, cucumber salad, salmon cakes, and stuffed filet of sole. There is a small selection of packaged items (potato chips, pasta), jarred items (pickles, olives, peppers, marinated mushrooms, and condiments), candy, and snacks. There are two refrigerators filled with “Grab ‘n Go” items. They also have a catering menu. For those who may want to stay and eat, there is a small countertop area with seats for four people. There is also a bench at the front window where you can sit and wait for your order to be prepared. You can join their VIP mobile club and receive a discount and daily text messages with a photo of the day’s special and pricing. There is parking directly in front of the store as well as at a right angle in front of the train station. (Those who ride the commuter train usually park on the other side of tracks in a designated parking lot.) If you live in the area, this place is definitely worth a try. “I recently had a post funeral luncheon at the sons of Italy in Blauvelt, which was catered by Luigi O’Gradys. Michelle was very responsive and called me soon after I emailed about availability, and then we handled all details over email (which I preferred). Day of, the staff was great - we didn’t need to ask for anything as they had everything out and ready when it needed to be. The took the stress out of a very sad day.“
