“Came here with local friends and loved it. It’s our first time in St. John’s, and Peaceful Loft’s vegan menu was a perfect change of pace from some of the heavier NL dishes we’ve been trying. It’s a small family operation— the gentleman who served us and his wife in the kitchen own the place— so stop by when you’re not in a rush.
As soon as we were sat, we were given lovely squash soup, two house-made sauces, a tasty chunky topping of TVP and veggies, and bottomless green tea, and THEN the menu to order. The main meal took a little while— again, one-chef kitchen— and the owner kept apologizing, but we were a-okay. We’d already had a whole appetizer! He also gave us mandarin oranges while we waited, and when I told him how excited I was to have some fresh fruit, he gave me two more. 😁 The menu items were all generous portions with plenty of veggies. They made very sure our friend with a nut allergy was taken care of as well.
It was such a great meal, super affordable, with warm and friendly service, and we might never have known if our friends hadn’t suggested it. Definitely recommended!“

“Authentic Chinese food place owned by a couple and is in business for 33 years.
Mea Mei Wok Wonton Soup is a classic. Dumplings were made in house and the texture was perfect (soft and creamy with good amount of meat). If you are in the area, I would really recommend this place.“

“I have been ordering from Song Hee since about 2009 when I moved to St. Johns for college, and I still love to order it today. Literally nothing has changed the food, the layout and the owners funny and friendly attitudes. When me and my friends call, the lady still know our orders when she hears our voices. The food comes out very fast, they always tell you to come by in 10 minutes.
I am thankful to have found Song Hee, I hope they have many more years in business.“

“First time ordering Noodles Express and it was 300% worth it! We did a dinner for 4 and we had enough left for left overs the next day! By the time you take a portion of each thing you’re filling your plate and then some! The beef in the beef and broccoli would melt in your mouth, it was so tender! If you haven’t tried Noodles Express, you’re missing out!“
