The staff are really friendly and wants to get their 40 hours of work instead of giving t0 sponsored people's thanks to the government. Time get given fair working hours right cause it's only the rigjt thing to do. Anyway I can go on about that but I won't. Cheers and don't work to hard now sweating in that kitchen skipper by . Parking: It's just off commonwealth .it can get abit busy with traffic flow so best just make a right turn on the street instead trying to cut across 2 lanes of traffic .commonwealth expect to us your common sense“

“Some of the best Chinese food in the city. Strongly recommend their lemon chicken.
Parking: You park on the side of the building, there aren’t a ton of spaces but it’s in a spot that isn’t too difficult to get in and out of.“

“Best fish n' chips I've had in on the Avalon Peninsula, honestly. Fish was unbelievably fresh, thick chunks of beautiful flaky cod, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Lady behind the counter was a sweetheart too!“

“I LOVE this place, no other fish and chips in NL compared, the batter is light and crispy and not heavy (think the opposite of a traditional English fish and chip, where the batter is doughy and dense).
My only complaint is that this place needs a serious serious deep clean, the floors are always greasy, the tables are greasy, the walls haven't been painted in a decade or more, and don't even talk about the state of the kids high chairs, it's borderline unsanitary.
Whoever owns this place needs to crack down on the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning operation.
I'll still go and support this business, the food is just devine“

“After a long day of exploring Bell Island we stopped in here for some food, and the effects of heat exhaustion came over me. The staff gave me lots of water, including some ice in a bag and frequently asked my family how I was doing! Thanks for all the understanding and kindness that evening!“

“Andrew is hands down the best server in town.
Sat down, and within seconds he approached our table for drink orders. Quite literally 30 seconds later arrived with drinks, we ordered our food (Irish nachos), which was promptly delivered. If you're all about good food and good service, I would highly recommend visiting.“

“On our last night in this beautiful Province of Newfoundland we stopped in at Ches's to have some Fish and Chips. Our Server Kaitlin was absolutely amazing and very friendly. She was working very hard because there were a lot of customers but she always stopped by our table to check in on us. Thank you for a delicious meal.“

“Went there around 2009 with my friend June Mullan great food, we were on holiday from California visiting June's two sisters and brother, lonely friendly people, June was born in StJohns and was raised at 16 Spencer Street. JUNE was a member of the southern California Newfoundlanders club where I met some amazingly happy friendly people, I was made an ornery Newfe. after being screeched, I'll never forget how friendly Newfoundland people are.“
