Dinner tonight was fabulous. Started with the Tuna Tar tar, it was zesty, fresh and went well with the wonton chips. Afterwards I had the duck! It was cook perfectly, beautiful crust outside, well balanced with the gnocchi and buttery parsnip purée, and the duck jus was the cherry on top. 10/10 would recommend both of these fantastic dishes. Additionally our server was fantastic and the drinks were great to!

Blue on Water RestaurantI visited Blue on my birthday and was treated to one of the finest meals I've had in years. It's rare for an entire meal to be excellent, but this was!The appetizers (Scallops, arancini, beet and arugula salad) were all exceptional - thoughtfully plated, sumptuous and a perfect balance of flavours. The mains (duck, chicken and salmon) were also delicious: seared or crusted on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Accompanying seasonal veg were also toothsome and simply prepared.Desserts (gluten free almond cake and a chocolate entremet) were to-die-for and I don't even eat dessert usually. Pretty as a picture and layered with complementary elements. Our server, Lyndon, and manager Emily provided stand-out service making our evening even more special.Food & drinks: The appetizers (Scallops, arancini, beet and arugula salad) were all exceptional - thoughtfully plated, sumptuous and a perfect balance of flavours. The mains (duck, chicken and salmon) were also delicious: seared or crusted on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Oh my goodness. My favourite restaurant in the city by far. Drinks are amazing and the beef tartare was perfect. Rooms are absolutely stunning. ? I wish I could give even a higher rating.

My review is for Blue On Water restaurant.I did not stay in the hotel.I give the restaurant 5 stars as it was one of my favourite places to eat on my summer 2023 Newfoundland trip.It was a beautiful hot summer day in St Johns and I asked to sit outside. I was given a nice cold glass of water and even offered sunscreen from one of the staff. My waitress Sabrina was excellent, friendly, informative & efficient.I had the fish cakes , mustard pickles, hashbrowns, fried eggs and home made toast. My goodness was it ever good.Homemade bread just like Nans that I was told was made in house. ❤️I was recommended to eat here from my air bnb host Adam and I am glad I chose to go. I can't wait to return again.

Blue on the water is an excellent boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant and wonderful people who work there! The location is awesome —right near the bay and on water Street where most of the shops and restaurants are located. We highly recommend the salmon eggs Benedict for breakfast, and if you want a late night snack, their onion rings are amazing.

Sully was honestly the friendliest host I've ever met. We have been so impressed with the level of service and how genuinely friendly everyone has been. The room was great and the bar had great drinks. I highly recommend this place!!

The drinks here are absolutely amazing. The only down side is the staff are extremely judgmental. Prepare to be looked up and down if your not dressed exactly how they want. We watched numerous patrons come in and were watched the same way. Perhaps a talk with the staff about proper treatment should be mandatory.

Had yoghurt and fruit - fabulous because not a huge amount of healthy options around. Husband had cooked breakfast. Fast, efficient and friendly service. Huge mugs of coffee.

Barely in St John's 1 hour (1st time) and came to Blue on Water...what a find! Started with a Blueberry Bramble and IPA. Was BLOWN AWAY by the tuna tartar to start and it just got better from there. I had the cod special and my wife had the seafood pasta. Check out the pictures: both were prepared to perfection. I've never seen so much mussels, shrimp, and scallops in a pasta. Ended by sharing a roasted coconut citrus triple layer cake with blackberry compote. The only bad news is we'll have to wait for mortgage rates to drop so we can move to St John's and come to this restaurant forever...

Amazing stylish room, super nice people. Bathroom was huuuuge, Internet connection with zero problems. Food on the first floor is a bit pricey but top notch quality. If you plan a long hike, taking their huge, 2 mln calories breakfast is clearly a good idea. Bed was awesome quality, slept like babies despite the
