Came here with local friends and loved it. It’s our first time in St. John’s, and Peaceful Loft’s vegan menu was a perfect change of pace from some of the heavier NL dishes we’ve been trying. It’s a small family operation— the gentleman who served us and his wife in the kitchen own the place— so stop by when you’re not in a rush. As soon as we were sat, we were given lovely squash soup, two house-made sauces, a tasty chunky topping of TVP and veggies, and bottomless green tea, and THEN the menu to order. The main meal took a little while— again, one-chef kitchen— and the owner kept apologizing, but we were a-okay. We’d already had a whole appetizer! He also gave us mandarin oranges while we waited, and when I told him how excited I was to have some fresh fruit, he gave me two more. 😁 The menu items were all generous portions with plenty of veggies. They made very sure our friend with a nut allergy was taken care of as well. It was such a great meal, super affordable, with warm and friendly service, and we might never have known if our friends hadn’t suggested it. Definitely recommended!

This is the best restaurant I’ve perhaps ever purchased from. The people who run it, are the purest humans you will ever meet. They’ve acquired some secret knowledge about infusing magic into food that’s for sure. The flavours are incredible. I am gluten free, have been vegan—and I can’t eat out many places but I can here. There is something for everyone. The food tastes *real*. The soups, Peacful rolls & Singapore Noodles are some of my favourites. If you happen to find it’s too busy, try back another day & don’t be discouraged.

As a vegetarian, I always research and pre-select restaurants when I am traveling. Peaceful Loft was at the top of my list based on reviews and proximity to my downtown hotel.
What you need to know is that this lovely establishment is run by only 2 people. A lovely, hardworking couple named Paulo & Lisa. So, depending on your timimg, you may need a back-up option for your dinner. We had to try twice, and came very early for dinner (before 5pm) because they get very busy. Yes, the food is THAT good!
If it's a busy night (which is basically every night), then there will be only Take-Out with a minimum wait of usually 40 minutes, or more, depending on the number of orders before you. It really is worth the wait, so plan your timing to include this restaurant if you are visiting St.John's for a few days.
Very friendly for most allergy-concerns and dietary restrictions.
We were 2 people and ordered the chicken legs as an appetizer and the Singapore Noodles. as our main. Our dine-in meal began with an on the house cup of tea and a bowl of squash and chickpea soup.
From start to finish, everything was very tasty and the lovely addition of their made fresh in house each day TVP sauce was what brought all the flavours together. With the generous portion sizes, you'll have to come back multiple times to try other dishes on the menu. :)

A wonderful plant-based Chinese restaurant serving delicious, guilt-free versions of Asian favorites. As soon as you walk in you're treated like a special guest, with green tea offered immediately and refilled frequently. The food is tasty and skillfully prepared. The atmosphere is quaint and homey. Their a small family business so their hours can be erratic and sometimes they have to turn away folks at the door for dining in or even takeaway orders if they’re busy, which they can get pretty quickly, but it’s worth it. It almost has the vibes of going to an uncles house where they just want to feed you too much in the best way possible. Everything they serve is immaculate plus you get complimentary soup and tea right away and some of the tastiest sauces to go with the dishes, as well as complimentary fruit for dessert.

We mostly eat take-out from this restaurant, so can’t comment too much on the atmosphere. However, I can say that the Singapore noodles and peaceful rolls (combined with their house made sauces) is probably the meal I crave most. The owner is super friendly and sweet; we’ve enjoyed interacting with him each time we go there. The restaurant sells vegan food, but we aren’t vegan and absolutely love it. 5/5.

You will not find a sweeter more kind human in this city than the owner of Peaceful Loft, you are always sure to leave with the biggest smile on your face.
You are not likely to find a better value, portion size or quality of food anywhere else! The tea alone is worth coming back for, and your cup will always be refilled before you ever get to the last drop! He is always sure to fill your belly until there is no room left!
