The food was really good. I was surprised by the size of the portions to be honest. The service was pretty good too. They do things a bit differently here, so it was nice for a change. I would definitely recommend if you want vegan food!

The restaurant is vegetarian but most dishes are vegan, and the vegan options are clearly labelled. The Pad Thai was mediocre. It was too sweet and not very flavourful otherwise. There was a meagre amount of tofu and vegetables. Maybe I just didn’t order the right dish - their burritos looked delicious. Regardless, the meal was filling and I was glad to find vegan food in St John’s! Cute exterior decor and cozy ambiance.

Solid menu and great flavour all around! Per some previous reviews and from our experience, some items are definitely better than others. Would highly recommend the enchiladas with their vegan cheeze, very delicious and quite a big meal. Tacos can be hit or miss. Went back for the Saturday brunch, food was good and nice portion sizes. Nothing special but nice to have a breakfast vegan option in St. John’s! Updated from previous review on 2024-09-16

Update from 3 star rating: Pleasant spot. Well-priced drafts (2), great veg/vegan tacos, and I am personally a big fan of the Saiyan Salad (sp?). Warm environs - local paintings for sale and, over the years, the place has been well maintained!

Staff has usually been stellar. An in-between of counter and table service, I think it works very efficiently!

Went for brunch with my parents, really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend going on a Saturday as they have a brunch menu then which was excellent. I'm sure we will be back soon.

Had the avocado taco which is not a taco at all; more like a burrito. Super yummy

Not worth the $$, Food was ok but nothing special at all but maybe we made wrong menu choices. $16 for a taco, I was hoping for homemade and flavourful but tasted bland. $6.50 for small cereal bowl of home fries. Self service ording and table setup. Small patio, mostly 2 seat tables, one picnic table(which is located under the pigeon nest). Not recommended for kids. You could have a nice sit down dinner with table service at a different restaurant for similar price

Such a quaint and quiet restaurant. Beautiful, calming decor. Relaxing atmosphere. Wonderful service from the staff, easy to follow direction for ordering. Tasty food, I had the gluten free pad Thai (indeed spicy friendly because I cannot tolerate spice and this dish was perfect). Absolutely would recommend!

The Buffalo "chickn" taco made with tofu is AMAZING. I'm from Nova Scotia and travel for work often. I make sure to stop in and get this every time I'm in St. John's.

Poyo + The Sprout offers a cozy,
beautifully decorated space with exceptionally friendly staff. The Avocado Sandwich is fresh and flavorful, while the Marinated Tofu Sandwich is perfectly seasoned and delicious. Great vegan food and excellent service in a charming setting. Highly recommended!

Wow wow wow! We absolutely *loved* this place. As vegans, it was honestly the BEST dining experience we’ve had since visiting Newfoundland over the last ten days!

From the absolutely delicious food, incredible atmosphere / music & friendly staff - we were not disappointed to say the least. I’ve got it starred for our next visit!

Can’t recommend stopping by here enough. You won’t regret it!

Some of the best vegan food I have ever eaten!

They make their own cashew-based vegan cheese.

Flavours of the marinated tofu sandwich are yum. Some flavour of umami and hummus.

The tacos are made with a neat chewy skin... I've eaten something similar but I can't name it. It's way better than a traditional tortilla.

The avocado taco was good. The CHKN taco was good too. Be careful with the buffalo sauce; it's got tang and heat.

Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian if not vegan.

Super fresh and plenty of healthy/tasty options. Had the curry dish and I was blown away. Didn’t mind the ordering setup as it was not typical, but effective nonetheless. Friendly staff and cool atmosphere. The only gripe if you will were the wobbly benches. Other than that it’s a must while visiting St. John’s.

Vegetarian options: Tasty and full of options.
