One of my favorite places to have breakfast! The fresh croissant breakfast sandwich is AMAZING and the coffee is so good!!! Highly recommended Rocket Bakery Downtown!!
While visiting St. John's, many locals had recommended that we stop at the Rocket Bakery for wonderful coffee and their famous fish cakes. Both the coffee and the fish cakes did not disappoint!
This is a charming local café on the pedestrian only stretch of Water Street. It is perfectly located for a quick snack or simply a great coffee.
The baristas were extremely friendly, informative, and crafted a perfect Cortado. Their beans came from Phil and Sebastian coffee roasters which the barista informed me was a roastery out of Alberta. The Cortado was rich, chocolaty and perfectly balanced. It paired surprisingly well with the fish cake!
This is an absolute must stop if you are on water Street, looking for a great cup of coffee and a true Newfoundland staple.
Luv this place. Great coffee. When people come to visit this is the cafe I take them.
Super unfriendly staff. Just walked in to buy an ice cream and she gave me a dirty look. I felt like walking away.
Ice cream is good but 9 dollars for a small soft serve is extreme
Found this quirky place in the Moon travel book. Terrific Linzer cookie, they call them “peek-a-boos”. The breakfast sandwich is a must, and the London Fog was one of the best I’ve had. We stopped in to get out of the rain and am so glad we did.
Best flaky ever. Go early, they go fast.
Went this morning for brunch. The fish cakes are good but they crumble like crazy so I recommend grabbing a spoon. We did however find a bone in ours so be careful. The flakey was great. We ordered an ice latte with a shot of vanilla and they forgot to the shot. For some reason it also tasted like burnt espresso. Overall we were disappointed because we had really high hopes for this place.
Lovely coffee shop and bakery downtown 😋
The ambiance is lovely and the food is excellent 👌
The owner is friendly and has a great positive energy
Breakfast sandwich was great!
Phil & Sebastian latte was delicious!
Bright space .. Fun vibe! Clean bathroom
Such a fun and yummy spot- had a lovely sandwich and cookie for lunch at Rocket’s the other day. Fun atmosphere, nice service and really tasty food. The baked goods looked great! Would be perfect if the chairs/tables were a little more comfy!

Excellent place to stop for a coffee (or chai latte). The sandwich was a bit on the expensive side but it was very fresh.

Incredibly delicious croissants...and very sustainable, as products from the previous day are offered

My goodness…. Go get a cinnamon bun from here. Go right now. It’s like a magical fusion of a sour cream glazed donut, but with the crispy edges of a croissant, and packed full of cinnamon sugar. We picked one up from here on our first day in St.John’s and had to go back for more on our last day. Cinnamon buns are world class, worth the walk, worth the drive. Sandwiches were great too.

Amazing cafe & bakery, so much so we came here twice on our visit to St. John’s. First was lunch, great home made soup, fish cakes & egg and bacon sandwich and then for breakfast where they serve what I consider the best bagel I’ve ever had! The staff are really friendly and the seating are has a great vibe. You need to make this a stop on your travels when visiting St. John’s!
