Awesome service from our waiter , updated us on our food . Prompt bar service and drinks were top notch. Overall a great experience, looking forward to a return trip in the future.

Service was great! Very friendly and attentive. Cocktail was lovely. Meals were both delicious. Nice to see more seafood on the menu! The arancini was delicious....loved the sauce....very flavourful. The duck was lovely....cooked to perfection! The blackened salmon was delicious. Always a favourite.

My best friend and I took our 9 year old girls out for a girls night and had an amazing experience. Our two servers went above and beyond to make the evening special. Will definitely be back again.

We got married at Gypsy Tea Room on November 8, 2025. In the months leading up to our wedding both Doug and MJ were prompt in answering any questions I had. Our walkthrough prior to the wedding answered any and all other questions and helped make our day much more structured. Doug conveniently offered to play his own music for our reception as I did not opt for a DJ.
Our wedding day went off without a hitch. Doug, MJ and Cassie were very attentive to both us and our guests during dinner service and for the entire event. Dinner was served quickly and efficiently, our guests raved about their meals and many commented that it was the best meal they have ever had at a wedding. We served wine with dinner and no one had an empty glass the entire time.
We opted to give our guests drink tickets as wedding favours and Doug and his team ensured the bar was well stocked ahead of time, and everyone was very pleased with that aspect of our celebration as well.
Our day was absolutely perfect from our ceremony at Gypsy to the end of our reception. I cannot thank Doug, MJ, and Cassie enough for the impeccable service and attention paid to both ourselves and our guests, and the chefs that evening for our delicious meals. We are all still talking about it. Thank you all so much for helping to make our day so special and see you all again soon for our Gypsy dates.

I enjoyed a Saturday brunch on November 1st. Online reservation was simple. The menu featured standard brunch options which would appeal to every diner. The server didn't hesitate to offer some substitutions on the eggs Benedict to accommodate my gluten allergy. The meal was fantastic - apologies for forgetting to take pictures. The coffee was excellent and I'm a complete snob in that department. Service was outstanding. The only negative comment is that the ambient lighting was very low (actually dark) and a morning service can be brighter. Great experience.

I am visiting St. John's, NL for business. I asked the Delta Concierge for restaurant recommendations and he suggested The Gypsy Tea Room. The Blackened Salmon was excellent, I would have licked my plate if I was home. I didn't have any dessert, but the options looked divine!
Cassie, the waitress is the epitome of waitresses! Very attentive, responsive, accommodating (for dietary restrictions), simply delightful!

Douglas made our dining experience both times we went to the Gypsy tea room amazing. The food was superb and the staff friendly and went above and beyond our expectations. I had the smash burger and the Cajun chicken fettuccine my wife had the lamb shank as well as halibut every bite of each meal was awesome and delicious. Thank you Douglas and everyone else

After our last not too good experience at this place, we went back last Saturday. The place was not too busy, so we had a good experience this time. Delicious food and excellent service.

Beware if you order the seafood, linguine. There were only three three inedible mussels and one shrimp identifiable. The waiter comped the wine. There was nothing wrong with the wine. They should have comped the meal. The mussels were terrible. Otherwise the service was good

Gypsy has a GREAT atmosphere. I was there not long ago and the service was also really good, the waiter was very personable!! My complaint is with the pricing, which is a bit outrageous. $23 for an appetiser of only two arancini balls is laughable.

While they were willing to accommodate a large group, service was on the slower side. Great calamari, pasta was good but not as match for the price.

We were recommended this place by locals a few times so we decided to try it out and are very glad we did! Staff is very friendly and also gave good food recommendations. We both got the Candied Apple cocktail and it was the best cocktail of our trip. For an appetizer we got the Brie; it was pricey but so delicious and looked pretty. Woulda like just a couple more crostinis but either way, we still enjoyed it very much. For our mains I ordered the Cajun Chicken Fettuccini and my fiancée got the Blackened Salmon and we both absolutely loved our meals, everything was cooked and presented to perfection. Highly recommend stopping by!
