I went here for dinner on my last night of a recent trip to Newfoundland. The food and service were fantastic! I was absolutely delighted with the number of gluten-free options. My daughter is vegetarian, and she was very pleased with her options as well. And of course the carnivore of the group enjoyed their food immensely!
This review is for the airport location, it was the worst service I have ever had by a wait staff. The lady was the rudest person I have encountered and should obviously not be working in the service industry. I’ve eaten at this location a few times. The food is not good, and have been served undercooked food. It’s too bad that this is what travelers to the beautiful province experience. I have tried on multiple occasions to contact management about the experience and they are inaccessible. As a business, I would want to know the issues and have a way for customers to contact me, not instruct staff to take messages and pass them on or never give out a phone number for their office.
The old building pub atmosphere of the Yellowbelly is nice except for the mice running around the dining room. Our food took a while to be served but it all looked appealing and was pretty good for pub food. Unfortunately though it was hard to enjoy the meal while seeing mice running around in the dining room thinking that they were also probably in the kitchen. Our server was friendly and did apologize for how long our food took to come out. Due to the mice we will not return.
Went here after a free walking tour of St John's (Amber w Come from Away) & she suggested this brewery for lunch. It was pretty crowded on a Saturday w all us cruisers in town, but we managed to snag a table on the sunny patio. Beer was really good & so was the food, especially the fish & chips. Nice server too
I ordered salad added chicken for 9.00 not worth it. Better restaurants downtown. Salad had lettuce, cranberries and carrot. 14.00
Food and service was terrible. It took at least 20 min for some of us to get drinks. Pop came for 1 child and the other 2 had to wait for theirs another 20 mins. Pizza came for 1 child yet the other adults had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for their food which included pizza. Staff stood around and I cleaned up plates, glasses etc from our table. We complained to the manager and she apologized but that was about it. You would think she would comp us for some of our meals. I was very disappointed because we came here 7 yrs ago for our 50th birthdays and it was delicious! Would not recommend this restaurant.
Wexford Wheat ale was good. Food was decent bar food. Atmosphere was okay. It was not very clean. We were sat at a dirty table and the hostess used a dirty cloth to give the table a swipe. The floors etc. were not clean and neither were the bathrooms.
Heard great things about the Brewery prior to going to Newfoundland, and it lived up to our expectations. Beer and food was great, but what solidified the stay for us was Harry's service. It seemed like he was serving and waiting on every table on the first floor while we were there --- but we never felt as if we had to wait on anything. Goes without saying --- give that man a raise!
A great meal of fish and chips with malt vinegar. Loved the atmosphere (upstairs) and the music was perfect ….both the volume and the tracks played. Friendly and fast service too.
Charming stone brick interior about 300 years old. Kyle was our attentive server. Pub food but great for a casual dinner. I had the best fig and prosciutto arugula wood oven pizza. Absolutely delicious. 2 Others at our table had fish and chips and it was excellent the service was fast and food was good another friend had the fish chowder. The French fries were spectacular. Well cooked and delicious. Upon leaving we mentioned to the manager how good the experience so she talked more of the place and showed the speak easy in basement . So quaint and historic. Happy to pass on our terrific experience.

D.Simms... Improve your service! Waited 90 minutes for food which was barely warm when we finally received it. Probably a good place to go for their craft beer, but nothing else. Very nice atmosphere though !
I would not recommend this restaurant. We sat in the basement pub. First, the room is very dark and it smelled musty. A mouse ran across the shelf behind our table. The food was okay except for the onion rings which were tasteless. Biggest problem was that it took an hour to get our food and all we had ordered was pizza. Our server was nice but did not know any of the history of this historical building. The beer (Irish red) was good.
Great atmosphere. Great music and vibe. Staff were very pleasant. Just felt the fish ( fish and chips) was dry. Slightly overcooked. I was starving and ate it all anyway!
Popped in for a late lunch. Server was very nice. We ordered two different kinds of mussels...both were great...and huge portions ! Would go back!
I was very disappointed in the restaurant.Hostess was miserable. The server didn’t even ask what my grandson what he wanted and the coffee was a day old
