Vu Restaurant Reviews
The service was slow. We preordered but still waited almost an hour for food. The food was warm not hot. I ordered the one-piece fish and chips. It did not come with malt vinegar or tartar sauce and our waiter seemed like he was doing a million things so I did not feel as if I could ask. The prices were good, and the view was specular. I would not return due to the service and food was ok at best. Presentation was beautiful.
After my brief experience this past Saturday, I am 99.99% sure that I will never be returning to this establishment nor would I recommend it!
On Saturday evening I had dropped my wife and daughter off on Duckworth street to avail of the local Craig’s Cookie’s store. Of course there was no where to park in that area, so I just dropped them off and proceeded to drive down Duckworth Street. Had fish and chips there tonight. Fish was obviously frozen and was dry while the chips tasted as if they had been reheated. Have had much better fish and chips at Ches’s and in St.Phillips. Service was also slow. The view was fabulous.

Vu Restaurant offers a mix of dining experiences, with some aspects shining while others fall short. The restaurant boasts stunning harbor views that create a beautiful setting for any meal, making it a popular choice for those seeking an enjoyable atmosphere. The service can vary; some visits have been marked by attentive, professional staff and timely, hot food, especially during larger group dinners. On these occasions, the food was diverse and delicious, with generous portions and standout desserts made in-house daily. Customers have praised the overall quality of the food, highlighting dishes like the salmon and mussels, and the burger called Nacho Average Burger, which features grilled beef patties, double American cheddar, crispy bacon, caramelized onions, fried dill pickles, and a tangy burger sauce served with fries.
However, not every visit is consistent. Some customers report slow service, long wait times, and less satisfactory meals, such as wet and soggy fish and cold gravy. Appetizers like wings have been described as flavorless, and the restaurant can be quite cold at times, although it warms up before guests leave. Despite these inconsistencies, Vu Restaurant remains a popular spot for its views, friendly staff, and tasty food, making it a worthwhile place to visit for a memorable dining experience.
