My wife and I visited the pub to take in Mike Sixonate's performance. We were not disappointed. Mike is an amazing storyteller, talented guitar player, and singer. Even though he does many performances it doesn't show - his performance was fresh and engaging. Highly recommended. The pub has a good beer and mixed drink selection and non-alcohol options for me, the driver.
It was take out so could not comment on atmosphere but there was people chatting away and the place was busing even on a rainy Sunday night.. this was very good tasting pizza one/two of my best ever..ordered the Popeye and the Sailor...I strongly recommend this place.
Love going to the captains pub at the anchor inn in Twillingate. Been there at least 20 times to see Mike Sixonate play. If you’re looking for a great relaxing night and to see someone play great NL music Mike is the guy to see.
Captain's Pub is a friendly neighborhood pub offering excellent food and service. The room has a superb view, and the staff is lovely, always friendly and helpful. The menu features vegetarian options, including the popular fried pickle, and simple good food like the fantastic Sailor's Pizza. Entertainment and great music add to the pub's lively atmosphere, especially when Newfoundland musician Mike Sixonate plays live music and tells entertaining stories. The pizza is excellent, and the pub is a lively spot where you can enjoy tasty tap beer and an awesome selection of NL beers. It’s a great place to visit for a successful evening, especially if you want to experience local music and a fun, welcoming environment. During busy nights, arriving early is recommended to secure a seat for the live entertainment. Overall, Captain's Pub is a lively, unpretentious place full of local flavor, perfect for a night out in Twillingate.
