I found this place on yelp because we drove long distance with our kids through this Japanese restaurant near Route 40, I ordered food online at 2:00pm, I had to bubble at 3:10 to drive here, when I arrived At that time, our order still had a little problem and was cancelled. But the kind-hearted little handsome guy made a new one for us when they were resting, and we are very grateful in our hearts. Let me eat love food even on long trips. The food is delicious, the boss is handsome and kind, I wish the restaurant business is booming!

Had the beef short rib donburi and it was delicious! The ribs were perfectly cooked and the sauce was super tasty. Also got potato croquettes as an appetizer which I recommend. They were perfectly fried and had great flavor. To top it off I had some sort of sparkling plum soda which was fantastic. Inside is a little small but the food was worth the wait and all the staff were kind and courteous. Will be back to try more!

Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options including potato croquettes and vegetable curry.

We've been going here for a few years now and the quality and consistency of the food never ceases to amaze us. We even ordered take out from them during COVID for our anniversary! Support a small business and try them out, you definitely won't regret it!

The waiter was flustered when 3 people walked in the door. He seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. He refused to seat me because I arrived about 5 minutes before my partner. He instead sat the 2 people who came in after me. I didn't make a fuss about it and just left. There are only 4 tables, and only 2 were open, so I could tell that by him not seating me, a third party who came in just after me and the other party of 2 were the only people who would be able to be sat. His reasoning was that "we start to get busy right now, so I can't seat you until the rest of your party arrives." Well if now (11:20 on a Wednesday) is when you start to get busy, then you should be prepared to take 2 two tops. I'm part of your pop, I don't feel like I should have been made to stand and wait when there were 2 open two top tables and 2 parties of 2.I felt this was very silly and a little rude and decided I would prefer to spend my money elsewhere. My husband was disappointed because he really wanted to try your highly rated restaurant. We will try to come again some time and just make a reservation first, but I feel either the waiter's behavior or this policy is off and should be addressed.

By far the best curry and overall Japanese food I had here in Albuquerque so far. The curries are all amazing during lunch along with the rice bowls. Dinner wise the ramen is probably the best ramen in town but a bit disappointed by the lack of hand made noodles, a bit spoiled there on that part.Definitely come here to try to food! Only wished it was a bit closer to where I lived.

The price is fair to the portion of the food. The curry is very subtle in flavor but not bland. The potato croquettes were crunchy but also so soft like potato pillows. Everyone in our group love their dish. You can also order on the QR code so it’s very convenient. It’s a pretty small place and there was a line at 1pm. The menu for lunch and dinner is different so if you want ramen you want the dinner menu

Great delicious Japanese restaurant! Get there early as a line already started to form outside a few minutes before the place was even open. The staff is very friendly. When were there, they had us scan qr code and for the menu and you order the food on your phone. An interesting system, but it works and the food comes out fast. The ramen was delicious and big enough to share which is what we did. I recommend potato croquettes and the cucumber salad as well. The mackerel was the only dish we didn’t love. Overall we had a great experience at this establishment and definitely look forward to coming back soon!Scores (out of 5):Food: 5Atmosphere:4Service:5Price/Value:4Score: 18/20⭐️4.5

I went during lunchtime. The interior is very minimalist which I really like. They have a QR code on the table for the menu. They do not serve ramen during lunch. I ordered the fried chicken tender curry. Wait time was reasonable and the quality of the food was immaculate! There was so much chicken! Cooked well and flavorful. The curry had just the right amount of spice and a little sweetness to it which I like. The waiter was very attentive and nice.

Virtually impossible to eat here without a stroke of luck. Tried on three separate nights to go here for dinner. They have some bizzare policies here. specifically they are as follows.1. If you show up and the 4 (yes they have only 4 tables and one small counter that seats about 6) tables are full. You can wait for a table to open up. However, you cannot put your name down and wait outside. You MUST stay inside the small building and hover behind people eating.2. They do not allow you to call ahead either for a reservation or to hold a table / add name to a list. And if the staff can be bothered to answer the phone when you call will always tell you there is space available, even if there is not.3. You cannot order takeout. As they have no outdoor seating and few places to sit we decided on our third attempt to just order it to go as there seemed to be no way to actually eat at this restaurant without a stroke of luck. However they are strictly dine in. I asked why they had this policy and they told me "because our Ramen does not taste the way we want it when it's To go". Fine, I did not want the Ramen I wanted the tonkatsu curry. Still they insisted it was dine in only.I really wish I could have tried to food to review it based on that. I was simply unable to get my hands on it. I suggest instead going to Nagomi. They have more than 4 tables, take to go orders, and will reserve a table. And they are willing to work with you should you have allergies. None of which Magokoro will do.

Really good tonkotsu ramen, but not as authentic as I prefer. The broth was full of flavor, and a bit peppery. My wife and daughter got regular tonkotsu ramen. I ordered “extra spicy” expecting extra garlic, and I was surprised to find red pepper in the paste on top of my ramen. Overall, I liked the full flavor and spicy kick, but it was not authentic to my experiences eating tonkotsu ramen in Japan. The egg was perfectly done. Finally, this may seem picky to some, but I was disappointed to get egg noodles. They tasted fine, but they were egg noodles, not at all the kind of noodles I would ever expect in tonkotsu ramen in Japan. I wish they had offered a choice of noodles. I would go here again for the super rich flavor, but I would stick to Naruto across from UNM (Naruto, definitely NOT Oh Ramen!) when I want more authentic tonkotsu ramen and a more Japanese ramen bar experience.

Delicious!! We spent 2 years in Japan and this is as close as you’ll get to amazing ramen and tonkatsu curry. Customer service is top notch as well! Definitely one of my favorite places now ❤️

This place is small. Get here early if you want a seat right away otherwise be ready to wait especially if your group is bigger than 2 people.Their Spicy Tonkotsu has a great flavor. I'm willing to go on the record and say they have the best flavor. I've tried other ramen restaurants and they don't compare.I really love how they utilize their QR code menu and update it as soon as they run out of items.

Magokoro is a gem! All of the food at Magokoro is exceptionally delicious. Although they don't have carry out options for dinner, I have always felt comfortable eating there by myself. They have nice seating available for 1 diner. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. I wish I lived in Albuquerque so I could eat here more often.
