About Ruthie’s Bagels

Ruthie's Bagels, located in the JCC lobby, is known for its delicious bagels, according to many reviewers. The deluxe, everything bagel continues to receive high praise, while seating remains limited and shared with other JCC events. Some customers have mentioned that bagels can be frozen, but when fresh, they are tasty and comparable to popular bagel shops in other cities. The service is friendly, with one customer even receiving an extra bagel due to quality concerns. Ruthie's bagels are also available pre-packaged for purchase.

In addition to bagels, customers enjoy items like the tuna melt, although some have found certain meals like the pita pocket to be a bit small for the price. Despite this, the flavors are appreciated. Many customers have noted that Ruthie's bagels, while different from New York's, still offer a great texture and are better than other options in New Mexico. The bagels are not huge and fluffy, resembling more of Montreal's style. As of 2024, the cost for a few bagels and sides is around $15, which some consider worth it for a treat. Visitors do not need a membership; simply let the person at the front desk know they want Ruthie's, and access is granted.

absolutely amazing bagels and spreads, wonderful customer service!
Delicious! Bagels as they should be. Crunchy on the outside, and so chewy and soft inside. Boiled for that wonderful crust, and then baked to perfection. The real deal. PS: They don't mess around with the red chile bagel... it's got genuine heat and NM flavor.
I do like the tuna melt here. But I was Shocked when I ordered the pita pocket and an iced tea. The total was $15 and I received 1/2 of a small pita containing 2 falafel balls and 2 small containers, one of hummus and one tzatziki plus a little salad. All tasted great, but I was still hungry when I finished.
The hummus and tzatziki were both in containers normally used for condiments. Fine for the tzatziki but could’ve used more hummus to offset the tiny sandwich
