Excellent service and friendly wait staff.
This was a wine pairing dinner and we were a group of 8. The food was excellent and the wine pairing was perfect. The dining room is a bit loud which made conversation challenging but overall it was a lovely evening!
Scalo is a fantastic restaurant in Nob Hill, known for its excellent cocktails and brunch menu. Dishes like French toast, short ribs over polenta, carbonara, and salmon salad were all delicious. The service was friendly and fast, making it a great spot for a group of six. The Bloody Mary bar during brunch is a must-try, and the attentive staff ensures a memorable dining experience for families. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with cloth tablecloths, a neat paper overlay with the Scalo stamp, and views of the cooks at work in the airy main dining room with not-too-crammed-together tables. The menu offers a good variety, mainly with an Italian emphasis, but not only. The chef and wait staff serve the food with enthusiasm, and the restaurant's location in the neighborhood makes it a favorite for return visits. Guests can enjoy perfectly cooked dishes, like salmon served hot with tasty eggplant and fingerling potatoes. While some have experienced slower service, overall, Scalo remains a charming spot with great food and a lively atmosphere.
