The food was the ABSOLUTE best I’ve had in New Mexico, all of 5 stars and more! The staff are super friendly and I felt valued and valued them and appreciated that, the service is quick and the atmosphere is relaxed. Awesome place!

I've worked in and around Carlsbad for years and have only recently discovered this gem. I could kick myself because this is the kind of place you hope to find when you're away from home. I had juevos rancheros that were as good as the best I've ever had and left with a cinnamon roll to go that was like visiting heaven. Also, the service was friendly and on their game. The whole experience was inviting; I can't wait to travel the area again.

The place is small with too many tables for a small restaurant. Went there with my wife back in 2004, and the table flipped onto its side, and my wife's and my food and drinks both ended up in my lap. The people at the table seated next to me said that the same thing had happened to the people who were seated at our table right before we sat down. The restaurant owner (who was there at the time of this incident) knew about the issue and did nothing to fix it before we sat down. After the big spill, the owner came up and apologized. She offered free desert to make up for the embarrassing and messy experience. I went to pay and told the cashier lady that the owner said that we could get free desert and that we wanted to get two slices of pie. Just as I said that, the owner was walking by, heard me say "two pieces of pie," and started screaming to the top of her lungs, "ONE PIECE! I SAID YOU COULD HAVE ONE PIECE OF PIE, NOT TWO!". I could not believe how rude this woman was. When I tried to tell her how I felt about her handling of this experience, she started talking over me and would not let me get a word in edgewise. The replacement food was not bad, but it was certainly not worth the price. The lady who owned and operated this restaurant in 2004 still owns and operates this establishment today. I will never eat here again.

The huevos rancheros is horrible was expensive and a waste of money. Came to NM for vacation and so far Carlsbad isn’t worth the visit.

A Carlsbad favorite I am told. Been there a handful of times - and each time the food is always excellent and the portions are huge. Its a bit crowded but not too much - and parking is pretty good. They just close down early and are not open on weekends. Seems weird to me as this would lessen their revenue - but Carlsbad has a few places like that. I can respect that these folks probably need a break from the influx of oil field workers that no doubt frequent their restaurant. Also - and FYI: the El Jimador right next door has a breakfast menu that is awesome, and they keep normal hours 7 days a week.

The food was very good but for the small portions it was very overpriced. For me and my husband we spent $40 on breakfast.

The sausage, bacon breakfast burrito with both sauces "smothered" was phenomenal. I ended up getting more hot green sauce. The heat was perfect. Grabbed a pic before it was all gone.

The food was disgusting I paid 16.25 for food that came out of a box soup from a bag and cold French fires the 1st and last time I will go here your better off buying it yourself and cooking would be a lot cheaper I would recommend you go somewhere else unless you like eating food that isn’t homemade and ice cold food was so disappointing in the food I ate 1 bite of each and was done
