We booked one night for a quick trip to ABQ. We weren’t planning on spending any time here as we were in town all day (it’s about 20 minutes away).
Staff was super friendly. We usually camp in our van, so we got a tent camp site in the upper loop. They weren’t fancy, and parking spaces were tight (we have a minivan). There’s 0 privacy, as the sites are VERY close. Again, nbd, we were literally only sleeping there. If we stay here again, we’ll book a lower loop site as those seemed a tiny bit more spacious. Yes, we were given shower tokens at check-in, but if you do any camping on a regular basis, you know that 1-showers are a luxury and 2-people be hogging all the hot water if you let them!! Bathrooms were clean and they also had heaters, which was nice imo, as it can get cold in this area! Also, it was waaay cheaper than the local KOA which was probably obnoxiously crowded and literally no better in any aspect. At least THIS spot was in the mountains!
The terrain is as expected-shrubs and scrubby trees. It was quiet. We have no complaints. Actually there are several coffee shops and random little stores very nearby. There’s a really cute nursery just up the road with a coffee bar and gift shop-highly recommend checking it out.

Nearby activities: There’s a trail to hike that’s right out of this campground.

Safety: It felt safe.

Monthly rate please?

Torn between 2 and 3 stars due to inflated price gouging during Balloon Fiesta. Just an RV parking lot, not real treed sites. Very dusty. Their sewer stunk like it was padt due for pumping. Far from everything. Was close to Cibola National Forest hiking on great trails, though. Token operated showers! WHAT?

The only downside is the ban on camp fires. Otherwise it’s a pretty nice place.

We booked this cabin online for a stay near Albuquerque..only a 20 minute drive.. When we got there the gentleman at the front was very friendly, informative and quick to get us checked in. He did forget to give us our shower tokens (1 token = 5 minutes of water). The the campsite was very neatly organized. The campsites are fairly close to each other so you don't have a lot of privacy but there are cedar type bushes and trees in between most of them. Every site had a picnic table and a gravel pad for the tents. Our cabin looked really cute upon arrival but we soon found out that it's only a cabin appearance on the front, lol. When you go to the side or back of the cabin it's actually a storage building on the back of a faux cabin front. There was a small porch with two plastic chairs on it in the front. Inside there was a full size bed and twin size bunk beds, a small refrigerator, a box fan, a radiator style heater, a trash can, small dresser, lights and an electric outlet. The website said there would be a microwave but ours did not have one. You are not allowed to burn wood or have an open fire of any kind so the microwave would have been super nice. We used a propane cooktop. It wasn't immaculately clean but it was also a cabin for camping so we didn't expect it to be super clean . However I'm not sure that it got cleaned before we got there because there was a bag of old McDonald's food behind the fan sitting on the shelf when we got inside. And, not that it's a huge deal, but the fire extinguisher inside was expired. Better than nothing though. The bath house and bathrooms were nearby and descent and everything was within a short walk. Not much to do outside of your campsite, as some of the activities that are listed on the website are run down. Hiking is allowed through a coded gate into the national park property. Overall it was a good place to stay for a night out under the stars and out of the weather. It rained before we got there so we were glad to not have to stay in a tent.

Quiet and clean. Not all sites are level. Rough road getting in, but we will stay here again.

Overall a nice park for RVs (we stayed 5 nights at a full hookup pull-thru site). The main drawbacks are... sites are very close together (we had 6' on one side, 10' on the other), wooden picnic tables are provided but most are in rough shape, dumpsters were overflowing the whole time we were there. No laundry facilities. But... Aaron at the office was very kind and helpful, they offered a Good Sam discount, and at an altitude of 7,000' it was much cooler than in Albuquerque (to the west) and Moriarty (to the east). We would certainly stay here again.

Really friendly staff, specifically Kai who made us feel really welcomed. Easy drive to Sandia Peak and Alberqueque town, clean and quiet campgrounds, heated bath room, that actually has hand soap compared to other campgrounds where you dont get soap to wash your hands with, dishwashing station, ability to sort your trash into specific bins for the environmentally conscious. Could not be happier here, wish we could stay longer.

This is absolutely the most serene, stress free, calming environment I've ever been privileged to be in. The bird song in the morning is my favorite part, and the 360 views of gorgeous green on top of it ensures that serene feeling. The camp sites are nicely tucked away, the partial hook ups for temporary stays have the best sunrise and sunset views, and the long term people are all lovely to be around. If you need a breath of fresh air and a reset this is your spotRooms: They have a couple of cabins that they rent out, otherwise they're all camping of some sortNearby activities: Access to hiking trails within walking distanceWalkability: They make it walkable, some rougher ground because it is camping in the woods, and some extra mud during big rains

I love this place and will never stop camping there. They have electric outlets in all sections including the tent area for EV charging. This place attracts a friendly crowd of people and has quiet hours, which is convenient for those of us hoping to hear nothing but outdoorsy sounds while we sleep in our tents. The Internet has also become really good recently! The only drawback is that they generally don't allow wood fires, and often don't even allow charcoal cooking, so bring propane or electric grills for your food. For this reason, I'd select 4.5 ⭐'s if Google let me. Still one of my favorite campsites! . . . but maybe not ideal for all people and all moods at all times.

This is a great campground, the service was fantastic. You can't really see much of the mountains because of the surrounding trees.

Perfect little campground, easy access to Albuquerque, but quiet and in the trees

This was a superb stay. I camped in a tent. First night there was a wind storm and with the juniper trees it helped buffet the 40 mph gusts and allowed me to stake down the tent and ground cover without much fuss. This site has WiFi, which I did not use as the local Verizon tower has 5G-UW coverage and was extremely fast.I greatly appreciated the bath house. It is heated with an oil type device and it kept things from being a walk in freezer. The hot water never stops and you get 5 minutes per token which is fantastic after using CA state parks and their 2.5 minute showers. The stalls have a divider you can use to change and hang your towel and a small bench to hold your clothes and toiletries. They do have 2 rustic cabins with dorm style refrigerators and a microwave as well as a fan and oil heater. These are great for a small family of 4. There is a large cabin that has a built in shower and kitchen area. This would be perfect for honeymooner’s or a special luxury camping experience.I had no issues with camping relatively close to the RV sites. I never heard a generator going the entire time I was there.Overall, this is New Mexico’s premier camp site. You are only 20 minutes to Albuquerque and 50 minutes to Santa Fe. Not to mention the dark skies you get being in the shadow of the mountain. Come, relax and experience the healing power of nature and simple pleasures.
