We found this place adequate for our needs. It was one of the few places open in Chama in the preseason of May. Bathrooms were basic but functional and relatively clean. No issues with the staff. Gas prices were what would be expected for relatively remote town. About 10% higher than usual New Mexico prices. Convenience store was average with the normal type of items found in such a place. We visited May 2025.

Why would a shift change require the store to be closed for 30 minutes, this is about the 5th time in a month that I come here and they happen to be in the middle of a “shift change” , they see you walk up and lock the doors but as I pull in one of the workers is outside smoking, so are they on break or a shift change ?

Great place to stop for gas — prices are decent and it’s easy to get in and out. However, the restrooms have been “out of order for maintenance” for months, which makes it inconvenient for travelers. The staff also doesn’t come across as very friendly or welcoming. I pass through often on trips to see family in New Mexico, and every time it’s the same — restrooms closed and no real update on when they’ll be fixed.

Horrible customer service the taquitos and hotdogs are never out the employees are lazy and dont even make them the people that work here are rude give attitude and just don't care do not recommend corporate should take a look at this location

The outside is a little grubby and could use some TLC, but inside the store is well stocked, reasonably priced and the staff are friendly. Plus it is within walking distance of a couple good motels so if you're staying locally you can come here for snacks.

Bought a lottery scratcher $5.00 winner $50.00 clerk told me that they had stolen tickets and could not cash. They took the ticket did not rip it and gave us $5 back. When I asked them if I could take to another lottery seller they would not give the face value back. I believe I got scammed out of my winnings. Changing my review to two stars. I had contacted NM lottery about this transaction. And they confirmed the scratcher was stolen. The clerks should have contacted NM lottery division right then when I was in the store. But did not. New Mexico lottery division investigated and contacted me right away. A big shout out to the detective on this matter. He has done a great job to put me at ease, that I was not taken advantage of.

Scammers :// Stopped for premium gas because it said $2.48 but as soon as we started to fill up it charged us $3.59. That’s a whole dollar more per gallon.
Got gas while traveling. Went inside to buy a snack & use a restroom. The clerk wouldn’t make eye contact and was extremely rude when I asked if there was access to the restroom. There was not. Therefore I put my snack back. I’d rather get a snack where the clerk is nicer.
