We stopped in for a quick drink and look around before our final destination. We were welcomed with open arms, a great bit of history and delicious drinks! Would have loved to stay the night and have some dinner next time!
I stayed two days at the St. James and ate three meals at the Lambert Restaurant. I ate the fish and chips, reuben, and chicken fried steak. I was told there is no better place to eat nearby, and I was never disappointed. The spicy sauce that comes with the fish and chips was unique and tasty. Bison burger advertised as 1/2 lb. My homemade 1/3 lb burgers (lean) are the same size. This wasn’t a 1/2 lb burger. The patty was tasty but the bun was approaching hard, not soft like a potato bun should be (as was advertised).
Chicken on the two salads looked baked and was dry. Definitely not grilled. Skip the chicken on your salad, not worth the $4 extra.
French fries tasted great but the portion was tiny.
