“Made a stop at the mercantile in the small town of Cimarron en route to Denver. It was such a cute place with a direct menu that made deciding what to eat so much easier. It was brunch time, so I had the panini. You build it the way you want it. I selected sourdough with roast beef, tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and a side of the green chile aioli. It was absolutely delicious and came out in about 10 minutes. The only thing about the sandwiches is that you have to dress it with your selected vegetables that added a minor additional step. The restaurant provides you with a pack of mayo and mustard for condiments. The mercantile also carries pastries, various goods from local businesses, books, magazines, and a selection of meat. The bathroom was impeccably clean.Last but not least, the service was wonderful! Both our server and the cook were engaged and kind, providing us tidbits of information about the local goods, the history of the building (it was built in the late 1800s ? and a former Wells Fargo), and the neighboring hotel that served as overnight stays for the likes of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. The Cimarron Mercantile is well worth the detour for where the Rockies meet the Plains.Vegetarian options: Several menu items that are vegetarian or can be made meatless. The menu is limited in general, but there is still a good amount of options for vegetarians.Parking: It’s not an actual lot, but parking spaces in front of the building.”
“Good pizza. We took a bus in town from philmont. Stopped there. Ordered 3 pepperoni + sausage, 1 cheese, and 17 cans of soda. The pizzas were hot and fresh. Crispy thin crust. Very nice staff. Clean easy outdoor seating. Simple place and reasonable prices. Will be back next time.”
“Live music, tasty beers, and absolutely amazing bbq. Had the stout, the IPA, brisket baked potato, and the special: bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin. It was all delicious. Will be back, for sure!”
“Great place to eat in very good service. Friendly staff and good food. Atmosphere took me back to growing up in the fifties and sixties in the diners I used to eat. Highly recommend you try it.Kid-friendliness: Family-oriented and kid friendly atmosphere and food selection.”
“Just stopped by here on my way through town and so glad I did! Great coffee, great atmosphere, and lovely people. I had the "Bearista," which was very tasty, and my kids enjoyed their chocolate croissants. ?”
