Best place to eat after a trek in Philmont
Kathleen’s Burrito Banquet is not to be missed in Cimarron, especially for hungry scouts coming off trail at Philmont. Kathleen is so personable and just amazing. The food is fantastic (get the green chili lemonade!), and the covered dining area is so much fun. We’ve brought four crews here over the last 4 years. She remembers us every time. It is always a highlight of the trip.
Very kind lady and a great place to visit after going to philmont. She was very welcoming and friendly to the troop. There is also lots of fun games to go and play while eating.
Based on the reviews, Burrito Banquet | New Mexican is a great place to visit. The owner is described as a very kind lady who is super sweet, friendly, and welcoming. The food is excellent, with a large menu. The Trail Pack is a popular meal that includes a burrito, taco, and cheezie, and each item is BOMB. The burrito is the best some have had in 40+ years of eating NM burritos. There is also prickly pear lemonade and a green chile lemonade popsicle. The atmosphere is awesome with nice seating in the shade and lots of fun outdoor games to play while eating. Cookies and fruit on the table are a nice touch. The whole facility is unique and uplifting. For many, it has been a staple for family trips to Philmont, and they look forward to returning next year.
