Delicious! Veggie tacos are outstanding! The most recent time we visited, I got the Chilacas (crispy corn masa boat filled with whole beans, chile con carne, then topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato and chopped olives) and because they make all of their food fresh, I was able to customize my order and get it vegetarian (and without olives). It was a great choice.
I got the steak salad with the chili citrus dressing, and when I say I’ve never had a more creative delicious dish. I love spicy food so the dressing wasn’t spicy to me but others have said it was.
The salsa was a bit spicy but completely addictive.
Can definitely recommend.
I also got Chala’s iced tea, reminiscent of horchata if that’s your style!

Chala's Wood Fire Grill offers flavorful dishes, from the green chili sausage and carnitas tacos to the grilled smoked pork chop and Navajo potatoes. The service is fast and friendly, and the restaurant's outdoor patio provides a pleasant dining experience. The brunch menu features a nice variety, including house-cured bacon, house-made sausage, and green chile jelly. Visitors praise the al pastor tacos and house-made salsa, which are considered some of the best around. The restaurant is known for its unique flavors and woodfire grill, which cannot be found elsewhere. The ribeye and pork chop are highly recommended by regular guests, who often eat there multiple times a week. Many visitors enjoy the atmosphere, often filled with groups and friends, even in cooler weather. The restaurant also hosts events like private anniversaries, with options including buffet-style dishes and hearty meals like fajita burrito smothered with green and cheese. Parking is limited, so parking across the street at the park is suggested. Overall, Chala's is a favorite spot for delicious food and a welcoming environment that keeps customers coming back.
